Just found one for sale down here in NZ. It's a genuine Renault R5 Turbo 2. The mid engined one.
Was just wondering what eveyone thought of them?
I would really like to own a homologation of a Grp B Rally Car at some stage.
Anyone else out there driven/owned one of these beasties?

I have never seen one of the midengined ones, BUT i remember an article in EVO about comparing it to the new clio V6, and it won hands down as a trackday/boyracers/loonatics car!! If i could get one go for it! very rare, very different, and definately summit to giggle in!

The other good thing is the price.
I can hardly believe what the price is. NZ$25000.
That's around UKP9000!!!!!!!!!!
Only problem is it's not registered, and cannot be until Feb 2004 (only 8months away) due to our silly importation law.
The other problem is it's LHD, so I'll need to get and exemption of that. And i think it's the only one in NZ so it may need to be type approved. Not sure, might getaway as a Renault 5?
If it's still for sale in a couple of months i think I'll get it.
Would be awesome for track days, hillclimbs and sprints!
