Take one of these

Lower it on g-max springs and dampers and beef up the breaks.

Add 4 of these

And you get....

Standard engine (no point in trying to squeeze any horses out of a weedy 1.3, concentrate on the handling)
Standard exhaust (I am 28, not 18)
No Bangin Choons (keep the weight down! Its 0-60 is bad enough as it is)
Breaks no longer fade. (bit noisy though)
Handles like its on rails (doesn't feel like its going to roll over on the twisty stuff anymore)
Just a front strut brace to come and then ring its neck for a few months until the 172 cup money comes through.

Well done on the motor thumbup

At 28 you could have left standard wheels for stealth

Nice KA! They're the two mods I want to complete on mine in the future. However I'm not sure on the wheel sizes that fit the KA. Do you?

Wheels are 6j 15s and tyres are 195/45/15s. Got 15mm hubcentric spacers on all four corners.

Need to be careful with the offset. Stick to et35-et37 and 45 tyres on 15s or 40 on 16s and you will be fine. Tiny bit of scrubbage on full lock (Black bumper models have slightly roomier arches). Avoid 17s, they scrub like buggery and ruin the ride. Avoid lowering more that 40mm or you will catch the arches on speedbumps.

That looks excellent! The Ka handles pretty damn well as standard anyway, I've ragged a few around and quite enjoyed it. The engine is abismal though. Whip out the rear seats and any other weight you can and it'll be a right laugh! There are quite a few people who fit the old CVH EFi engines from the Mk3 Fiesta RS Turbo's and its a fairly easy conversion! They are proper little beasts!

Anyway, I like it!

Seen a couple of RS Turbo conversions. Also Puma 1.7 and Duratec 1.8 or 2.0 engine transplants. Think the 1.6 cvh turbo is the best though, still nice and light and loads of cheap and proven tuning parts. My mates cousin has a Mk4 escort chucking out 285bhp! Has offered me the car for 3.5 grand. tempted to take the lump and gearbox out and drop them in the Ka. Lot of time and money though, but what a street sleeper!

Front strut brace went on over the weekend. Has tightened things up a bit and has improved stability under breaking. Thinking of ordering a rear one as well but have heard this can compromise the handling on the limit. Apparently the tail can kick out, which although fun in certain circumstances isn't what I am looking for. Anyone got any experience with modifying Ka suspension?
