Looked at one of these before purchasing my Cerb.
Nearly fell over looking at the price of parts. Nearly £1k for a dash panel that is known to fail....
Had to pass and go for the parts bin special. Rear pads for the Cerb only £15.
Very nice car.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.......
Having been caught in the wallet-emptying whirlpool that is BMW modifying in the past, I set out to buy something I would feel obliged to leave standard this time round....
I bought the car a month ago after the previous owner spent £3400 on engine work at BMW in one sitting then parked it up for a year (!!??)
She was in an original but unloved state so recently shes had the star treatment and is now in the peak of condition, the Switchtronic gear-change on the wheel is becoming second nature now........just Angel eyes and rear Celis lights will complete the picture.
If its the pixel problem with the instrument binnacle you're referring to this is not exclusive to the Alpina but can be a problem with all E39's. But I've owned four now and had few problems.....
As for losing the stripes....well they've been on the car without sustaining any real damage (which is rare) for 9 years now so it would be wrong to just rip them off I think for the sake of stealth, plus I like the looks of acknowledgement on the faces of the cognescenti, confirmation we're all members of the same petrolhead club....
Yep. Just joined the register and looking forward to the next Alpina meet and the forthcoming BMW / Pistonheads circuit........see you guys there...
B10 3.3...? Manual box..? Nice........

As you are a Surrey chap you would be extremely rude not to bring it to one of the SAS meets!

This winter mines developed the pixal problem, seems to be temperature related so will see how we go during the summer. Have contacted speedofixer and they have quoted £200 to repair, but will let it get alittle worse as it's not annoying me just yet.
Please don't you remove the decals, that car has a right to have them.

Yeah, heard was an issue with both yet the "standard" one was about 200 notes where as the one with Alpina on it was a few more.
