Hi all byebye

Ive prevously posted my other cars on here before, My Silvia drift car, my jag, and my unforgetable short pink mini clubman!!

Well now Ive got my hands on another unusual and rare beasty!!

Here is my 1981 Toyota Corolla KE70 1300 that I picked up last week!!
This car is so clean and origional, I couldnt believe it when my friend brought it around!

It was owned by an old gentleman that passed away and his family just took his car to the local scrap yard in cornwall! The guys at the scrapyard thought it was too good to scrap so sold it as a whole! A friend of mine knew i was after something "old skool jap" and when he saw it in the yard he told me about it! To cut a long story short............ Its now mine  .

This car has all the O/E parts and lots of bits like Toyota floor mats, tool kit, Books etc and even has some maps from 1981 lol!!

Its in really good condition to and only has some rust on the bottom of the drivers door!! The car looks like nothing has ever been inside it and nothing is used, broken or worn!!

I wanted something cool but cheap so I can use it as my daily driver as the Silvia was a bit thursty to use every day!! However, It is going to get loved and have a few nice features added to it (see bottom pic!!)

Anyway, heres some pics

And this Is something like it will look like when its done!! All in good taste with period parts!! cloud9

Don't think you'll have too many problems with an eighties Toyota

It would be good if you could get it slightly tamer looking than the second car you posted even tho' that looks so nice

It's not often that I'm right about cars but I wasn't risking much with the statement above

Good on you and your car thumbup

I'm looking for a vintage toyota at the moment to put my spare Lexus V8 in, something pretty lightweight so I can keep the engine factory stock. Is that thing RWD or FWD? Any chance you could measure between the inner wings, and from bulkhead to slam panel for me?

It'd be a shame to modify that, bet the number of Corollas that age in similar condition is into single figures now. Would make an interesting sleeper though...

Im only going to modify it with period parts, late 70s, early 80s wheels/lights etc! Well the bits you can see anyway!! Bits like the suspension and brakes I may upgrade to something more modern! Im not going to mess with the bodywork, just fix the small number of rusty bits!

Yes ill measure the engine bay in a bit for you! that would be a real beast!! Keep me informed on that one! Oh and yes they are RWD and I have seen V8 ones in Austrailia

Mine is staying as a 1300, at least for now, but I may either "twin 40" it or stick a 4AGE engine in it later!!

Heres some OZ/NZ corolla web sites.......
