Is this some specalist thing that i dont get? Why is it important how many miles a what looks like standard VW polo has on it... is some sort of special edition....

btw
An elderly chap came into work today with a Merc, said he's had it 9 years and only cover 54000 miles in it... just thought you should know?

Well fair play to ya, sorry reading back my comments it sounds a bit funny I wasnt having a dig.

Anyway your car looks a heck of alot better than my first car, a 1989 rover mini 30 lol with rust as side strips.... but boy it came up nice after a wax LOL

I think your VW stood up well, cant see how its done such low mileage but i guess like the guy with the Merc if he/you only runs around locally in it you cant put that milage on it although i dont see how? i seem to go no where and still rack up 15k + miles.

Is it all mechanically sound etc, i would of thought if its been maintaned then it would run perfectly!

Have you any plans for her yet, or you gonna keep it standard? It would be ashame to do things to it though, being so untouched, saying that if its in good nick it'll make those improvements you do easier, such as suspension etc

thanks cooper , very appretiated

yes one lady owner for 14 years and racked up 22,000 which was driving to the shops a few days a week, so its in very good order, except a juddery clutch

i am now the 4th owner and am just guna save money for an upgrade, i really couldnt picture it with differant cloured primer all over the car , bumpers etc cos i wouldnt do that to any car in my lifetime,

its very dirty in that picture

heres a better one

Not the lowest mileage Mk3 Polo ever, but it is mint.

I've seen a couple of G40s with 26k on the clock (and you could tell it was genuine by how immaculate the whole car was in both cases) and one which had never been registered in the UK that only had 33,000 on the clock. Not to mention an '81 Derby GLS with 17,000 miles on the clock!

Personally though I think it's nice to see a few low mileage examples around it's kind of a shame that they've spent their life not being used. Sort of defeats the point of having a car if it's an expensive garage filler.

saw a clio williams on the renault stand at Goodwood FOS with 36 miles on the clock. beat that. Personally don't see the fuss about super low mileages, so long as the car isn't knackered out.

My 22 year old Lotus Excel has just passed the 38k mark.
Had 27k on it 3 years ago when I got it.

I would never buy that, WOuld be worse than buying a high mileage cars, I did it once with a van, when I gave it it's first proper run the dam thing died, The Thermostat never opened before I got it, the first time it did it spread crud all through the enigne!
Are you allowed to clock it forwards?

Interview with Sean Bean in the motoring pages of The Sunday Times - said he did 150 miles in 3 years in his 911.

What a waste..

surely you could drive to work every day in London or something, and only clock up a couple of thousand miles a year
