Hello to all...

Hello everyone, been registered and reading this site for ages, about time I made a bit of contribution, thought i'd start off by showing you my car. It is a saxo......
I guess i'll start with the pictures, its been off the road since october for a bit of project work which is still ongoing though i think i am almost done, however I've found a low mileage engine I might be sticking in some time soon as the current one has now covered 97k which is plenty for a frenchie lol
Last time I had it weighed it was 780kg, though I have removed a little more since then and should be running approx 160bhp once cam timing is setup and mapped properly.

lol I occasionally fit another seat but most of the time its deemed that passengers are too heavy
They arn't speakers mate, they are covers, underneath you can access the fuel pump and some fittings for the fuel tank. Speakers would be no use without a sterio

Plenty of room for the weekly shop !
It has to be said
Sterling effort there old bean
Nothing wrong with going lightweight and listening to the engine
Seen a couple heading up Harewood Hill last year and I couldnt believe how hard they were pushing them without oversteer or the engine going pop...they were REALLY hammering them!

My respect for Saxos just went up a bit!

jagdpanther, they're not to bad, remember this will be approx 200bhp per tonne lol at the small comment, there is quite a few track followers in the saxo world now, beleive it or not
It is the vts 1.6 16v, with catcams 708's and KMS standalone management, running wideband lambda and self mapping function, BTB 4-1 manifold, Ashley competition 2 1/4" system, Semi Rigid Engine mounts.
They are 935kg as standard, this was 780 at the last weigh in, and thats including just over 1/2 tank of fuel and the roll cage. I reckon its about 770kg now.

I love cars like this, I bet you get some interesting comments ('why don't you get some hub caps?' etc). Looks kinda 'ratty', especially with the Rallye steel wheels but its all function over form, which is the way things should be! I bet girls hate it to look at but love to ride in it.
I've been thinging about getting a S1 rallye with a 1.6 16v, my girlfriend thinks they look awful but that's not really the point. Lightweight is where it's at!
Out of interest, are the rallye wheels actually any lighter than equivalent alloys? I have 15" 306 XSi steelies on my 106 and they are bloomin heavy!
