First of all remember im only 18 (well until tomorrow anyways!!)

It's a 1990 Mk2 Golf gti 16valve which costs me an absolute fortune to insure at the minute, fitted with AVO Coilovers, 65% hardend poly bush's, soon to have eibach antiroll bars fitted and different exhaust system.

Pics are before the coilovers etc are fitted, let me know what you think

Ronal Turbos, best wheel ever. Except maybe some white compomotive MOs. Or ATS cups...

Nice car for aged 18, wish I'd had something that decent at that age.

Yeh white compo's are sweet not too keen on the ATS cups really. Insurance is indeed a killer but it's worth it, costing me just under £1300 which is good when you consider my age i guess, thanks for the replies!

cool car, no matter what age... the golf gti is the sort of car you can park next to anything and still get kudos, like the ronals

eta: get youself down to a no-rice meet

Planning on attending the no-rice meets it's still having it's new engine put in at the minute though

Call me strange, I love Golf GTI's but have a preference for the Mk2 prior to the big bumpers and preferably in white.

white mk2's when they are uber clean and tidy look mint, i personally favour the big bumpers, but each to their own.

Yeah like that!

My tip for you.... keep you old suspension handy, with AVO's you'll be needing it every 12-18months for a rebuild yikes Unless they have changed the design!

Still got a soft spot for mk2's, and insuring that at 18, well done!

When new my lasted about 2 years before they needed a rebuild, then about 18 months later.

Front seals went and the rear pistons get pitted and tear the rear seals. They did go very low though. I changed to FK Konigsports ( Adjustable Koni dampers ) they were superb!

If they are new AVO's? maybe the design has changed?
