Hi Guys,

I've just replaced the tatty TSW alloys on my Peugeot with a nice set of original steel wheel, so I thought I'd post some pics:

It used to have TSW Alpine 15" alloys, but the car handles much better with the orginal 14" steel wheels. These are the 6" wide wheels as fitted to the 1.6 rallye.

I also have a Westfield and a Porsche 924, but I still love driving the rallye.

Other photos of shows, le mans meets etc here:

Kirk,

I'm with you I like steel wheels instead of oversized alloy

Of course me being an older person I always expect to see chrome hub caps as well (not on this age of car obviously)

Were the wheels white as original spec?

nice to see a clean one, so many seem to have fallen into the hands of Barrys now. The only car of the last 20 years to look good on steels?

Hi Guys,

The wheels are Michellin sport wheels and came white as standard. I have to agree best looking modern car on steel wheels. Only problem is keeping them clean and looking there whitest. They are lighter than the alloys I took off as well, so that goes some way to improving the handling.

Thats in the Cat and Fiddle car park. It was a tad slipyy heading back down into Buxton but still good fun. The guy being towed out of the ditch probably wasn't enjoying him self that much though.

I can understand the cleaning problem and that oversized tyres and alloys are heavier
Your've setting a fine example to others

Fanatastic, when I saw this thread title I imagined it was pics of a Rallye after suffering some horrible wheel molestation.

Original Rallye wheels look & work just perfectly IMO.

Thanks for the comments Guys,

I don't like the trend for putting the biggest wheels on cars.

I went to a wheel sales place last year for a set of 13" alloys for the Westfield and said the smallest wheels they had were 16" and wouldn't order a set of 13" for me.

I ended up ordering a set of KN 6x13" minators from a place in Liverpool.

Swept wings

I think my Westies were on 15" wheels as standard (I could be wrong), Caterham and Lotus on 13"(?)

Your Westie looks good with the 13" wheels
