Hi all, just joined up, been lurking around for a while as a non member..

Heres a few pics of my corsa, which currently is sat in a hay barn waiting to be dismantled and sold for parts to make way for a 3 door sierra cosworth driving

Rough spec if her is / was:

2.0 16v from an astra GTE
Ported and polished head
Simpsons race exhausts big bore exhaust manifold
Simpsons race exhausts 2.75" straight through exhaust system
Jenvey 45mm throttle bodies and 60mm trumpets
Webber pico 480cc injectors
Omex 500 ecu and full throttle shift
Kent fast road cams (ast1612's) and verniers
Mapped by Chris todd at power engineering
214 bhp @ 7480 rpm (the limiter - doh!)

plus the usual suspension and braking upgrades

and a random pic of her at work after a c.v joint disintegrated

Not really too front end heavy, but with no weight over the rear it was a little skittish to say the least under heavy braking, especially with the rear disc conversion, and tended to suffer somewhat with lift off oversteer, all good fun tho.

Reason im breaking her up is at the end of the day its a corsa, could possibly get up to £4000 for it, but its worth more in parts. And its not quick enough for me, i was starting to accumulate bits to get the engine pushing out 250ish bhp, but i would have spent another £2000 odd, and the value of the car wouldnt really increase at all

Good god, a person who modifiys a corsa with a brain and does it subtly, but knows when to call it a day and not waste thousands on it and to upgrade instead!!

Why a 3 door cossie and not a 4x4 cosworth??

Cossie definately wont be quick enough in standard form, but from what i understand its pretty easy to get 300-350 bhp from em..

I would like 4x4, but the transfer boxes arent too good apparently and im not a huge fan of the saphire cosworths, but i do have a huge soft spot for the 3 doors. Also i cant see 3 door cossies depreciating much also

Nice Corsa. I had a Caribic blue GSI from new way back in 1994. LOVED it! Tuned it to 160bhp on the 1.6 engine and used it as a trackcar in the end. Great little cars.

I now run a Cosworth as a trackcar and I am Sorry mate but thats crap about the transfer boxes!!! I have a 3 door Cossie converted into 4x4 that I use as a Track car. It runs well over 600bhp and uses a STANDARD transfer!!!!

Be careful buying the 3 door... there is an awful lot of abused crap out there now. These are old cars now and need looking after. Some chav owners would rather spend money on go faster bits than regular matenience and the end result is a potential money pit for the next owner.

Here is my trackcar. It is road legal but you feel a bit of a tt driving it though!

At least you realise that though!!! Few lads round my way drive round in fully-stickered Scooby and Evo's, and when asked (I'm a cheeky get sometimes) reckon they look 'awesome'!

Yes I never drive it on the road unless its on the way to a trackday and I can't get anyone to trailor it....

and then I wear a Balaclava or a helmet!

Most of my roadcars are much more subtle... APART from my 'king of the Chavs' Skyline!

Goes VERY well on the track as well as a stand in trackcar when the Sierra breaks down during the day... which is most trackdays! Ford = Fix Or Repair Daily!!!

Are you sure that's a Skyline? Aren't they supposed to have a full-on parts shopping list on the door?
