Due to interest about my Volvo Estate within another thread on Gassing where I posted this,I've been asked to start my own,
So here goes !

My 1996 960 Estate has a small block Chevy and TH400 Auto box fitted,it has been running like this for the last 2 years whilst I have been collecting new and used parts to upgrade it.
It really is performance on a budget " I hope"
The car has now been in my workshop for 10 weeks and a rear clip,Ford 9" axle and cage (unfinished in the pics) has been fitted in that time so it will hopefully be back on the road in May or June I guess.
I have another engine to replace the mildly tuned Chevy that is currently in the car,it has been specially built for a blower application, all new with forged pistons and a 8:1 compression ratio, Manley H beam rods, steel crank, blower cam, alluminium performance heads and a new Hampton GMC 6/71 Supercharger thats fed by two Holley 600cfm blower carbs and will no doubt require an hole in the bonnet.
The engine is to be stripped down and re-checked soon.
I will post some pics soon of the car from a side view, it's really low and aids the loading and un-loading of furniture etc, although being an Antique dealer by trade the chances of finding old triangular chests of drawers will make my job even worse !
The wheels are American Prostar's that I have had anodised satin black with 225/50/15 tyres up front and 325/50/15 at the rear,
The rear axle is a modified/strengthened Ford 9 inch with adjustable rose jointed four bars linked to protech coilover shocks, rear discs are Volvo with Merc calipers and the diff is a locker with a 4:57 ratio.
Thanks for the interest - back soon

Show us some pics of the front and the side! I wanna see that small block in all its glory. We run a killer small block in our dragster so i have a soft spot for them!

As for the plate, Pure Genius!

Gonna run nitrous with the blower?

The original engine is now in bits for a well needed top end recon so it wouldn't be a very good photo shoot, I thought it might be worth running it first with the original engine rather than putting the blower engine into it,so I can sort the new rear end out.
The reason that I took it off the road was due to a load of smoke pouring out the exhausts on the over-run so I suspected the valve seals were knackered
I have just "tonight" removed the old stock heads as I've a pair of cast World castings ported heads to fit and also a 274 cam and noisy gear drive,
The original smog heads did look worn and needing a rebuild -£30 the pair if anybody wants them!

When I removed the inlet manifold I also found a 12 inch flathead screwdriver with a mashed up handle that had been resting on the right handside bank of pushrods (not me) - couldn't believe it- and I do have a witness although the bores are great at 30thou oversize making it a 355ci so it should be ok now with a bit of N20 when the performance heads are on.
The wheels on the back are 12 inch wide although the tubs will accomodate a pair of 15" with slicks when the need arises.
A Super powershot NOS kit is already fitted.
I will have the back wheels on this Friday and will roll it out for some side pics,
It will be great for when I get older due to the low height at the back when getting things in and out - well so I keep telling myself !

There is one that does the UK Club race scene as a tow car - looks like a normal 760 soloon but has a 8 odd liter big block ex-drag racing lump in it!

Also a Twin blower LS 1 or 6 in a 760 or 960 exstte or Streetfire.com NUTS.

Built the rear end up today and rolled it out to check the road height - should make getting chests of drawers on the roofrack easier now !

Next week - I shall be mostly painting.
