Is there any clear definition in law on the colour of lights you can have down the side of the car. For 5 months I have had blue not bright led lights.

I live in Darlington and frequent Middlesbrough so I have the added confusion it ok Darlington but not in Middlesbrough. Untill last night there was no problem in Middlesbrough and I have been stopped by Traffic a few times.

Blue lights and you could be said to be trying to impersonate a police officer.

I think blue lights would get you pulled over more than any other colour.

Only my opinion, but it also looks w@nk. Please tell me you don't have the matching blue-neon washer-jets?

No I don't have the washer jets because I have a citroen xantia. I don't really like the colour blue and definately wouldn't have it on the front.

Though Durham Contabulary (where I live) Say they don't have a problem with them.

And believe me if there was a legal issue with any lights on a car they will pull you no hesitation.

Actually on checking the RTA 1988 there is nothing mentioned for the side of a car.

And as for imersonatign a police officer as far as Cleveland go I can't get my intelligence ratio that far down....

I intend to replace the blue with Green as one of them is screwing up.

If you are talking about blue side indicators, then that, i think, is an Mot Fail. The police could give you a producer to change the colour of the lights. The police used to stop cars with red, blue or green flourecents as those colours are used by the emergency services.

Phone up the police and find out maybe?

It'll be covered by The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (1989).
