Better say Hi in my De
Discussion
Ok officially my second post on here.
Thought I better say hi.
Well this is my little plaything.
1981 Delorean DMC-12
2.85l V6
Stage II engine upgrades by Delorean Motor Company Ltd (Sussex)
Performance shocks all round
Free flowed stainless steel exhaust
+ loads of general maintenance parts to get her like new again
Next she's getting the interior retrimmed.
I'm looking forward to joing in on some of the meets and greets and all that.
We're a bit of a petrol head family. My old man drives a Harley Davidson F150 Ford pickup and an HSV GTS-R. And my old dear keeps up in a 1997 Ford Mustang GT!

Cheers for the compliments guys. You do get your fair share of “Back to the Future” remarks, but at the end of the day if you drive a car from the film, what do you expect. Still puts a smile on my face when you drive down the street and you can see people mouthing “oh wow it’s a Delorean!”
Gaydon was a good event, but the most we’ve had together in one place in England was last October for the 20th anniversary celebrations of Back to the Future 1 coming out. We had 25 outside a cinema in Romford.
And the most we’ve had together in Europe was 75 in Belfast in May this year for the 25th Anniversary of the first cars coming off the production line.
If you like all things Delorean check out www.deloreans.co.uk and www.delorean.com

Actually getting spares is pretty easy, well on most things, even body panels.
Check out www.delorean.com
and www.deloreans.co.uk
Between them you should be able to get most things.

Lovely car you have there - did you import from the USA or does that style plate come as standard?
Mentioning meet and greets, keep your eye on the Events and Northants Forums for details of meets near you. There is a fairly sizeable run this weekend, details here :www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=307586&f=65&h=0
There is regular Dunstable meets and Leighton Buzzard pub evenings, also might be worth looking at the Thames Valley forum too
Would be great to see the car on the road - something much more interesting than a 911.

Well it did have UK style plates on it when I bought it from Canvey Island in 2004 but they don't fit correctly so I had some states plates made up..... which look a hell of a lot better.
I'd love to come on some more runs. Sorry I missed the most recent Northants one. But I'll be keeping an eagle eye on meets round this way and the next london tunnel run.
Oh and if anyones interested I have a scrap book style website (rough) with all my Delorean bits and pieces on including tunnel run pics and videos etc

I think it looks much better with USA plates
Definitely come to a meet - I have never been close to DeLorean (or seen the flux capacitor )
Lovely cars.
