My VW Golf Rallye and Turbocharged Mini
Discussion
Just thought I'd post my two cars, as its my first night on the forum, and I'm sure everyone else does the same thing.
Firstly, my 1990 rallye.
I bought it fit for the scrapyard, rust everywhere, dents everywhere, scruffy interior, no supercharger, missing brackets, missing front end, and no wheels.
I then spent a couple of months and a pile of dosh repairing it, getting it running with a brand new Rotrex supercharger, new wheels, new brakes, and a load of other new bits and now it looks like this:
I've also got some Audi TT leather seats to go into it.
Next up, my 1972 Turbocharged Mini!
This is my weekend toy. I've spent the last year building it from begged and borrowed parts, which is why it looks like poo. I've recently bought a new shell for it from a friend who was breaking his car for bits, so it's going to be reshelled over the winter. I'm also going to uprate the gearbox, so I can run some more boost. It currently runs 11psi through the standard (and very smokey) T3 turbocharger, and the engine should take 15-16 psi happily enough. It made 142bhp at peter baldwins earlier this year and was daily driven for 2 months while my rallye was being worked on
Here's the pics:
Neither car is amazing, but they're my babies.
Cheers for looking,
Alex.

I like both of those cars! Nice one.. I also have a Turbo Mini, but believe it or not, since I built it, i never used it.. Running 3/4 cars is expensive these days. So its in my garage gathering dust.. Mine isn't intercooled, but has some other nice parts which should allow it a realistic 130bhp or so. Plus it has a 5 speed JK sc box. There is a pict of it in the Mini forum, look in the Wood & Pickett thread.
All the best! P
