Hi, been browsing this site for ages but only signed up to the forum recently. Here's my 1999 BMW M3 Imola Edition, sometimes known as a GT2 after the original British Racing Green GT. For those who don't know, the "GT2" is essentially an M3 Evolution, built on a limited run of 50 models (mine is no.40/50) to mark the end of production of the E36. They came with the following spec:

3201cc, 6 Speed
Imola Red Paint
Imola Red Leather/Anthracite Amaretta Suede Electric Seats
GT Bi-Splane Spoiler with Brake Light
GT Corner Splitters
8.5R/7.5Fx17" Polished M Double Spoke Alloys
Digital Climate Control & Air Conditioning
Red Stitching on Steering Wheel & Hand Brake
Electric Mirrors, Sun Roof, Front Windows & Rear 1/4 Windows
Auto dim rear view mirror
Harmon Kardon Audio Upgrade & 6CD

My car also has the following modifications:

AC Schnitzer Pedals
AC Schnitzer Carbon Fibre Strut Brace
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (Lowers approx 25mm)
Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads

Looks very nice mate, congratulations on a fine machine. I do notice however that yours, like mine, has suffered with that horriable moisture-in-headlamp syndrome. But a fine example neather the less.

Happy motoring !

HELL YEAH !!. Don't ever under estimate these. They are a seriously quick car. I've embarassed a lot of exotic machinery in mine and when they realise what it is they really can't believe that the M3's are that quick.

Have to admire your honesty on the plate, first negative comment Ive EVER had about it, everyone else comments how it sets the car off! Short digit plates are a big thing in NI though, not such a popular thing in England though..

Couple more pics from today at Lurgan Park Rally:

Well its okay on a modified car, but you havnt (and wont I hope) modified the 'GT2'. It just gives me a bad impression, as is likely to do the same with the polizei. But its your car, and the rest of it is amazing.

Hi Scrob,

Lovely car mate, but then I would say that as I've got one too!
(I'm number 01/50)

Pretty much exactly the same as yours, even down to the misting in the front headlight!

Not sure how you post a pic but here's a couple of pics of mine:

In case anyone else is interested in the GT or GT2 models then you can have a look at www.m3gtregister.com which has got all the details on them and some great pics!

Cheers
Paul

P.S just noticed that your vaders seem to missing the M tri colour or are they in a different place to mine which are quite near the top of the seats?

Hi Paul, my seats do have the M tricolour, its in the same place as all vadars, its just under the first line of stitching on the seat about 2/3 of the way up.

Ta-da! I'm already on the GT Register, Duncan tells me my car is no.40! Have to say I love the thing but it's just gone up for sale as I have a house to buy and unfortunately something has to give

Might even end up with a fellow PH'er, never know

w210 E class mercs have a similar problem. Dirt etc gets past the lens seals and over time crud fixes to inside of the headlamp lenses. On the E class you can strip the headlights & clean. Dont know if you can pull apart bimmer lenses. If you could, then a quick clean and a coating of rain-x should help this problem out.

btw nice ride.

Have had a quick look at mine which resulted in a new lense (not through me breaking the origional) but on what i found you could not actually get to the moistured-up part as its sandwiched between two pieces of glass. Nothing to worry about thou, a very cheep fix with, in my opinion, very noticeable results.
