My Suzuki Cappuccino
Discussion
Here are some photos of my 1994 UK-spec Suzuki Cappuccino. The engine specs aren't up to much but the thing only weighs 700kg so it's a lot faster than most people would think and much better than the base-model superminis I was used to before. The handling is pretty good as standard but with the mods I'm doing it's improving a lot.
- 657cc 12-valve intercooled turbo
- 63bhp, 63ftlb
- Double wishbone front suspension, wishbone/multilink rear suspension
- Ventilated front discs, solid rear discs
- 3-piece removable hardtop that fits in the boot with enough room left for a small sandwich (roof allows for full hardtop, t-bar, targa and full convertible)
Current mods:
- K&N replacement panel filter
- Cusco front strut brace
- 15" OZ Racing wheels
- 195/45R15 Goodyear Eagle F1s
Mods coming soon:
- Rear strut brace (arriving early next week)
- Larini exhaust (being fitted early next week)
It's nippy, rear wheel drive, a bit different, reliable and, most importantly, cheap to insure. I'm only 20 without any no-claims bonus so that Noble I want will have to wait a bit

ukshooter, the best way is for you to get a few quotes online. Try Bell as they were the cheapest for me. The insurance isn't cheap, but it never is at my age.
Jaik,
A good friend of mine had one of those little monsters approximately 6 yrs ago. I will admit, when he first told me he had purchased one, I ripped him mercilessly! I keep a very naughtily modified 2.8i Capri as a second car- engine has been taken out to 3,000cc, it has a Cossie V6 crank, is fully blueprinted/balanced and runs a Kent fast road cam-goes like stink!
Needless to say, I wasn't overly impressed with my mate Trev's new set of wheels. However, all that changed, we RV'd up in The Lake District for some Fell walking. He offered me the chance to drive his motor from Coniston to Ambleside, how could I refuse?
Within a matter of a minute I was a total convert! Cracking drive, very nippy considering wee engine, great handling/roadholding LOL! Liked it so much I insisted on driving back from A'side as well.
Be carrful with the chassis-very rot prone, get the waxoyl out and blast it. Trev got rid of his due to the dreaded tin worm, it was only four years old-ouch!!
Enjoy!

Yes, it has crossed a few people's minds to put a Hayabusa in there! I'm not sure if anyone has ever actually come through on it though there have been a few projects started that have disappeared. Some people in Japan have put Mazda 13B rotary engines in there (usually without the twin turbos ).
This is the most I've read first-hand on a Hayabusa conversion, the rest is all anecdotal Chinese whispers.

Certainly did, always nice to meet new people I doubt I'll be there again for a bit, I live in Manchester.
Great little cars, pity I have to sell mine.... Not many takers though, must be the time of year!

Looks to be in fairly tidy condition, I'm surprised it's not been snapped up straight away, most sell pretty quickly. I phoned up the previous owner about mine about 20 minutes after he'd put it in on AutoTrader and bought it a couple of days later. He said he'd had around 7 more calls in that time!
