Hello, Im Kev and this is my GTE 16v Turbo.

I used to have a Lotus esprit SE turbo, thats why I have a few posts already as I used to post on Lotus esprit world. Anyway thats long gone now (I needed something a bit quicker lol!)

I put in a engine from a calibra turbo (C20 LET) which ive managed to tune up to 296bhp and 328ftlb torque. It is also fitted with a quaife ATB diff and 6-speed gearbox.
It has a turbosmart boost controller and a VR2 data display in the dash.
Other mods include - wilwwod 4-pots, rear cage, koni suspension and a few other bits.
Ive so far managed a 13.5@108mph down santa pod on road tyres and have a 50bhp nitrous kit that I cant seem to get working at the moment.

Anyway here it is. Please post ANY comments you have on this car.

Its a hybrid kkk. Only stage 1 (360 thrust bearing) with a stronger actuator which is quite crap. Im going to be fitting a -34 soon.

It is a champion. Got it completely standard and was going to keep it that way, but then I thought id do a few bits.

Full engine spec:-
Rebuilt C20 LET
Lightend and balanced bottom end incl. flywheel
Gasflowed head with piper cams
Hybrid AET turbo
Big intercooler
Samco hoses
Powertec ind kit
Phase 2 chips
Turbo smart boost controller
intercooler Water spray
Magnercor 10mm leads
Iridium plugs
Turbosmart twin port dumpvalve
50bhp NOS kit (still not working propley yet)
Haywood & scott full stainless steel exhaust system.
Helix 4-paddle clutch

i've always liked the "my intercooler is too big for the car look"!

it's quite 'old skool' isn't it - keep it like that. there's nothing worse than faux veilside bodykits on vauxhalls and those daft 'bad boy' bonnets.

Impressive - esp that torque figure.

Hardly ever see old Astra GTEs about.

Btw, I like the black wheel look.

What are those bits above the rear wheels? Are they wheelarches? Thought these cars came without them, just like all the Cav's of the same era?

Nice car mate.

If it looked totally stock, I'll bet you could have some fun with the local kids at the traffic-light Grand Prix!

Very nice.

I love crazy tuned hot hatches.

Too many people on here will slag you off for being FWD, but i would love to see there faces as you fly past them.

Hmm well the rest of the car is not my cup of tea (impressive though it is) but I LOVE that dash!!

Cheers for the comments people.

All the bodywork apart from the carbon bonnet and spoiler is completly standard.
I have upset a few 'fast cars' such as a 281bhp scooby wrx, 2 escort cosworths ,3 nissan skylines (GT spec) lots of RS turbos and I tried it on with a carrera turbo with all gumball stickers all over it, but he kicked my arse.

Ive spent quite a bit on strut braces, poly bushes ATB diff, koni shocks etc etc, so it handles really well! only problem is traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. And 4th, 5th and 6th in the wet. Good fun though.
