Nice looking cars, I'm looking to buy one at the moment.

Judging by the badge, I assume the one you're buying next is a Eunos, which spec is it?

Also, have you got any idea what the wheels on that Eunos are called? I was trying to get an insurance quote on a UK Mk1 1.8iS that had those wheels on but didn't have a clue what they're known as.

Hi Wigeon

Yes the new car is an Eunos, VR Limited, A spec. = Vin Rouge/Tan Leather (1 of 700).

Can`t find what the wheels are called, but as far as I know they are standard OEM, therefore not modified. Hope that makes sence.

Many thanks for the heads up re JAPCHAT, I had`ent noticed that yet but it will now be one of my Fav`s.

Nice one, I have two! (well one's the missus' old one and had a dead engine, awaiting repair!) I bought my red Mk2.5 just last week and it looks a bit like yours...

Mine:

Missus':

The cambelt snapped totalling the engine, but as it had 109k on it, it'll probably be easier to sell with a much lower mileage replacement engine... I'm busy retrimming the seats in leather, then I'll get the engine swapped then get the bodywork in A1 condition and sell it just in time for the summer

Having driven hers for a year I know you're in for a treat

Hi Flat Steve,

Nice to hear from another MX5 driver or two.
I do like your MK2.5, but I`m a BIG MK1 fan and think your wife`s car looks really good in black.

My profile pics are a bit back to front, the Vin Rouge is the car I will be getting soon, the Red one I`ve had and very much enjoyed for the last 6 years. I did consider a MK2/2.5 but I just love the popups, must be me age, fell in love with the Lotus Elan when I was a sprog.

Ps, I thought all MX5`s had a non interferance engine, meaning a cam belt breaking could not do any damage?
If not I need to drive VERY carefully to a garage to get my 113.000KM belt changed,
should be done at 96.000KM.
Anyway have a great easter and HIGH FIVE to you.
Dave

That's the second time i've heard it's a non-inteference engine but it's been bump-started so presumably is a bit of a mess? Must admit a soft spot for pop-ups having just come from an RX-7 myself! Talking of service intervals, my girlfriends' (not married yet lol) MX-5 broke the cambelt 3000 miles before it was due to be changed so being a bit paranoid of this now I'd recommend a change for yours asap! (Mine's also due in 1000 miles and I'm on tenterhooks driving it lol!)

As I`m a about to sell this one on for a very reasonable price the new owner will be needing the services of a spanner man.

If I understand your situation correctly, your not sure your car is damaged?
Have a look at this for Miata Net of US, a very good source of info for all things 5.
If it`s true you may be lucky.

Best of luck

Sorry to hijack your thread

Yeah not sure at the moment, a thread I started on the MX5 owners club forum seems to indicate the same, that it may not have lunched itself, though I guess only an internal examination will reveal that, but it's worth trying a cambelt change I think! If (and it's a BIG if) it's actually fine after what happened I will be beyond impressed by the chaps at Mazda!

Hi bavers,
Thanks for that and I like your two cars, MX5 in any shape are so much fun.

Are any of you guys going on the Midnight Tunnel Run? Would be good to meet up at the start.

Regards Dave

Hi,

Another newbie here. I don't have an MX-5 at the moment but I will soon! Most likely an early 1.8 Eunos. Just waiting for the right one to come along!

I was just going to recommend a firm called Dandycars, but I see your on the green isle.

Good luck hunting and I hope you don`t have to search for to long before you find the right car.

May the road rise up to meet you.
