Here is my baby. First car I've owned. Passed my test last July (aged 25, I know, TOO late on in life) and bought her about a month or so later and still makes me grin everytime I give her a little squirt of throttle. Lovely roar from that little 4 cylinder engine wrestling its way out of the engine bay

Completely standard in everyway (except head unit changed after standard cd changer broke) and done lots of maintence recently to keep her up to scratch, ie: Wishbones and both bushes, ball joints, track rod ends, anti-roll bar drop-links, front and rear shocks, front springs, all 4 rear beam mounts, brake pads, couple of oil changes, gearbox oil change, door check straps (no more clicking), plenty of waxing, plenty of leather seat conditioning, etc etc...

Anyway, here's some snaps. She's not particularly clean in any of them. She's normally spotless, but weather's been cack recently so only these snaps from last year I'll properly porn her up in the warmer weather.

Nice car, make sure you get the cambelt changed, they seem to snap earlier than the dealer states.

Stunning car - I'd be interested in hearing more about the tidying you've been doing, because I'm in the process of doing the same to my (white ) Phase 3...

Nice car, great as standard, it's nice to see you haven't chavved it with decals, wrong wheels, exhaust etc..

Congrats

Very nice! Thought about getting one of those a while ago as an upgrade to my old 1.4 phase 1 306, but couldn't find a low enough mileage one for what I wanted. Nice and standard too, surely a future classic!

Looks amazing mate, very shiny and even the interior looks in mint condition!

How much did it cost you to buy, and how much is it for you to insure?

Looks great, I've fallen back in love with my Pug in the last week or so, was going to sell it but I reckon I'll hang on to it now.

Very very nice but.... Wouldnt a few suttle mods look nicer

Looks mean but still practical!

* Lowered
* Powdercoated wheels
* Few layers of body colour paint on rear lights create a very nice effect
* Dual Exit 3.5" round zorsts with rolled out lip.
* De locked on rear can use solanoid and switch inside to pop boot
* De Badged
* Tints allround
==== SEXY

Just a thought

Someone please beat Tim to death with an exhaust pipe, quickly!

What the hell are you on about mate? Its an amazing, mint condition original GTi-6, a very rare thing to find now. Do those mods to another car which has been midified badly already, but that would ruin what is a stunning car.

Shame its got a 2.0 engine or I'd get one as they are quite cheap now - £4-5k on ebay at the moment

The wheels and smoked lights look ok, but IMO the tints and extra chrome pipes are too much, making a bit too modified to look classy and understated - how a car like this should be

Very nice, i have been dreaming about ones of these for a while, but just a little bit out of budget, especially regarding insurance costs.

Nice car, I like it with powder coated wheels and twin exhaust!
Is it the same 2 litre engine as in My Xantia Activa but minus the turbo??

sorry folks, been away for a little while.

i paid £3,500 for the beast. bit of a bargain really.

she's on 86k now, the cam-belt was changed at 56k, so i've just bought new cam-belt kit (137 tooth belt, auto-tensioner and roller) and new water pump to fit next weekend (myself, eeek). proper genuine pug parts from a dealer.

i paid £655 TPFT last year. first car, no experience, etc. i thought that was cheap. some places wanted 4k to insure a car worth less than that! silly money.

for the record STANDARD IS BEST. no chavvy extras for me. everything i replace/renew i replace/renew with genuine parts, not crappy chavvy big exhausts or anything.

i'm happy with her, handles soooo well and goes like stink
