Some dozzy b1*t just reversed right into the side of my new car....despite me stopping and leaning on the horn, she just kept on going until a solid object (my drivers door) stopped her! Great, She tried to apologise but I had to tell her to get back in her car and wait till I had calmed down.....did a couple of laps of my car muttering to myself and cursing then asked for her details.

Turns out "she had her mind on other things" ....so thats alright then :incredulous:

The mind boggles.

Can the police issue points to drivers who ACTUALLY cause accidents by their "mind being else where"?

It would certainly be a more appropriate way to reduce accident casualties than issuing tickets to those doing 78 on a motorway because there is a one in a million chance they MAY have an accident.

As well they should.

Surely an admission of "mind elsewhere", if witnessed, would be enough to make a Due Care & Attention charge stick?

Tuff,

Sorry to hear about this mate. Can't believe she even kept going when you're leaning on the horn?

Bah!

I trust you'll be insisting on a new door, and not a repair to the existing doorskin...?

Bad luck
Matt.
