Can anyone give me a vague idea of what might be wrong with my P reg Ford KA... Was driving down the M1 on friday and noticed steam coming out from bonnet, then nasty sorta burning smell then when press accelerator get horrible rattling sound from engine and no power. When tried it on sat morning, doesn't even start, any ideas on whats wrong or how much it will cost to fix??

I beleive the technical German term is kerfuched, but hopefully this might bring the post back up, so that someone with a modicum of mechanical knowledge can take the opportunity to tell you that your P&J is now beyond economic repair....

open the bonnet

see that big black thingy with pipes and wires attached to it

take it out and put in a new one

big ends or mains maybe. new engine or if you have the time rebuild it.
