In the process of building an EG civic so thought I would start a readers car thread to record updates.

Started out as a pretty mint 1.3 glacier but is far from that now.

First ever build / never really worked on a car so learning as I go.

Got as a part built project with the block built and the wiring part complete.

About a year into the build with a large % of that time being spend on a custom Tefzel harness (wish I had never started that!)

Pretty monster spec. Injectors fitted should be the limiting factor to about 750bhp (engine been build for 1000) but on lower boost 650bhp will be more than enough in something so light.

Options down in Somerset very limited so will probably trailer it to dynodaze or CPL.

Currently has a HA Motorsport base tune to account for all the mods but want to get rest of car built so I can take it for tuning and geo etc all in 1 hit.

That's going to be quite a machine! I have had mine mapped by Jcal in the past, he seems to have a good rep, could be worth looking him up for the mapping?

Ah cheers - looks decent and see he does slots in Barnstable some times at RCS Tuning which is only about 35 miles from me so would be ideal.

To crack on with rest of car. Current issue is have cut rear arches out for pandem flared rear and dropped the rear of the KW coil overs as far as they go and still need to drop another 3” or so.

So need to research something that allows a 5-6” drop over standard. Fronts look spot in with a 2” drop.

Yeah I will be going to see him at RCS when I have the opportunity as well. Certainly makes life a bit easier!

That’s quite some build, especially for your first but well done for such a big leap!

What you aiming for power to weight wise? Will be such a well thought out project if all goes to plan.

Yeah bit of a leap but if you are gonna do it then do it! Welding and electrics been hardest to self learn but getting there.

My wife and kids thought I was mental when I arrived with that on a transporter full of bits and basically shell. Too much time on hands, late night eBay and beers has allot to answer for.

It’s fully stripped but and with heavier engine and half cage I suspect will be back in low 900kg range weight wise (possibly dipping the 800s as some of the original bits are crazy heavy compared to what I’ve refitted).

So I suspect with the injectors and without obscene boost levels will be somewhere in the 700 - 850 bhp per tonne range.
