After admiring lots of lovely readers' cars on here over the years, my old E63 6 series car passed its annual MOT today with no advisories so I thought I may as well give it some well-deserved credit on here.

Bought it 3 years ago for £5k, lovely car for the money and still feels quite modern inside and out. Most issues have been sorted out in my ownership; oil cooler gasket, new aux belt, aluminium mickey-mouse flange, new coolant expansion tank, new thermostat, water pump and start motor. A bit of suspension items renewed on all corners. Mix of DIY and a great local indy. No more leaks thankfully (touchwood).

Got a bit bored with it a year ago so added a few little bits to it such as rear spoiler diffuser, side skirts, rear spacers, refurbed wheels in dark grey sparkle and new exhaust tips. Removed the middle resonator which makes a nice noise now. Android HU and new steering wheel cover. All cheap parts but comes together well to look a little more modern.

Just shy of 120k miles now and only worth around £4k on a good day now but for 17 years old, it looks fantastic in my eyes still.

Downsides are the £700+ top VED bracket and gets around 24mpg but perfect for my needs and fits my 6 year old and 2 year old in the back no probs. Massive boot too!

As an E63 owner (635D) for me, love to see these on PH as they're fairly uncommon these days! Is yours an N52 or N53?

Also Where'd you get that rear lip from? smile

2007 car so n52 which I sought deliberately after poor ownership of a 325i n53 (injectors) previously.

Rear diffuser and corner spats are just cheap 'universal' parts from eBay that I sprayed gloss black.

That looks great - so much car for the money!

In that tax bracket I'm guessing it's got an N52 engine, which is no bad thing as it is a real gem.

I'm on my 4th now in a 330i I've had for over 5 years, but luckily it's "only" Band K for Road Tax. smile

That looks great. Unfortunately it’s the interior that ages cars these days rather than the outside which still looks fresh and modern!

Enjoy!

Love the side profile on these. Yours looks especially good, OP. £700 VED is mental though.

Superb car cool

I test drove a couple of local 630i's and a 650i and they were superb; the 630i felt a much better drive, much more 'chuckable'. The 650i sounded fantastic as well. Alas I wanted 4 doors and settled for an F01 730D instead

You've got yours for a song as well
