MG4 standard trim
Discussion
Picked it up this afternoon; the personal leasing deals being offered here are too good to turn down, after my wife’s petrol 3008 got beyond economic repair.
It’s insured for any driver which is handy with an 18-year old.
First impressions, it’s super quick in a slightly soulless way. The instant mid-range acceleration is unlike anything I’ve experienced.
My wife really likes it but TBH we’re a bit intimidated by the sheer pace of the thing.
It’ll be our local runaround and we have a 308 SW diesel for longer journeys.
"Nice car, Mister."
Enjoy your first new car.
Thinking about an mg4 for a short distance runabout, and something like a petrol saloon for longer trips, so interested in the thread.5s to 60km/h... not 60mph.... otherwise "Jimmy!"
Enjoy your first new car.

Compared to a 3008 or 308?
Depends on the 3008 - mine is pretty quick (5s to 60?). Not as fast 0-60 as the mg4 xpower though!Thinking about an mg4 for a short distance runabout, and something like a petrol saloon for longer trips, so interested in the thread.

It has nearly 300 bhp and four wheel drive; there's no real difference in 0-60mph between my 3008 and my 350z.From Parkers: https://www.parkers.co.uk/peugeot/3008/suv-2016/16...
Power (bhp) 295 bhp
Acceleration 0-60 mph 5.9 secs
Mine's slightly newer than that but presumably similar.
(Sorry off topic!)
I live a bit further south in Germany from you.
I have been looking at these for my daily 60km to and from work. I want to stop putting non essential kilometres on our VW Cali and in a couple of weeks we will have a wall box in our underground parking at home. The lease deals for 15k a year seem cheaper than two tanks of diesel a month if we charge at home.
What deal did you get (if you don't mind me asking)?

MG4 is super quick? Maybe the X Power version, but the standard one is bog standard economy minded EV pace.
Apologies. I should have added context. I am not used to that kind of instant e-vehicle shove.
I would image the X Power twin motor variant is completely loony.
Ours is actually more pleasant to drive in eco mode, in sports mode it takes off like the proverbial scalded cat everywhere.

Servicing and insurance included.
€279 per month.
Zero deposit but a €999 ‘transport fee’.
I would recommend Andreas, the guy at MG Bad Homburg. And if you’re in Frankfurt any time you’re welcome to try it (although the dealer is just up the road and he’d bung you the keys to a demonstrator)
Have a look at Tibber for variable pricing on electricity.
Cheers

Back on topic I heard the lane assist and emergency/auto brake was a bit intrusive on these - is that something you've found OP?
Very dangerous on anything but perfectly lined roads. But then so are many cars these days.Always remember to disable lane assist' aka 'suicide mode'.
Auto breaking is tolerable, just make sure you are ready to stamp on the accelerator.
All 'safety' features default to on if you get out the drivers seat.
Latest software is a lot better, the original software was really unsafe.
Traction control is a bit 'laggy', it will step the backend out a bit before catching it.
Overall thought they are good fun and ridiculously cheap to run, sub 2p a mile. Saved a fortune since getting one and company car tax is minimal.
