I don't go to many car shows, but when I do, I'm hoping to see something as spectacular as your one.

Good to make a family day of it too

I love it, it's actually a friend of mine that owns it, as said, not everyone's cup of tea but it wouldn't do for us all to be the same

Agreed, the car isn't what floats my boat, but looks great parked up in the field and as mentioned rare being RHD!

Very cool - is there a tag on the firewall that says where it was assembled? I have a RHD 66 Impala here in the UK and the dash is exactly the same as yours. It was assembled in Australia.

I love that.

What does it do to the gallon biggrin

My oldest Yank was a '99 Mercury Grand Marquis. It would have looked like a Mini Metro next to yours laugh

Is that the foot/handbrake right next to the loud pedal?

I see it has power windows too. I think Caddies of that era had power quarter window vents as well.

One of my favourite toy cars when I was a kid in the 60's was a Pontiac Parisienne, because it had aerials on both rear quarters smile

It's Canadian built factory rhd car, they were sold new by Lendrum Hartman in London who used to import caddys etc, it's been in the uk from new, it's actually a Pontiac catalina body on an impala chassis and running gear, chevy 283 small block motor, is yours an Australian import?

Yeah, super rare, pontiac didn't have a rhd dash so used the 65 chevy dash, it's all chevy running gear on an impala frame

Yes, Aussie import. It was a 327 four door hardtop car. I grew up in NZ and we had Pontiac Parisiennes there, they are a good looking car. I had a 63 Belair back in the 80s that was NZ assembled, RHD back then.

They were built rhd mostly for South Africa and Australia, I wouldn't think there were more than 10 of these brought to the uk new, they would have been very very expensive here, I believe Lendrum Hartman had a big customer base of tv, radio celebs etc, probably wealthy businesses men and possibly even gangsters..who knows...it would be interesting to know who owned it from new, I've known the car since the 80's, was local to us for years,
