Picked up my new to me Golf GTE a week ago. Kings Red, lots of options and GTI levels of power on tap. It's quite frugal too, I'm able to charge at home every night on a BG EV tariff - 7.9p kWh.

Nice colour choice. Is it an 8 or an 8.5?

My 8 GTI just went back, really enjoyed it!

It's a MK8, so my only gripe is the steering wheel buttons.

Do these have the leaky rear lights, badge drain and slam vents as per all previous Golf’s or have VAG sorted it? I do like the colour.

I've not experienced or read about any of those issues. On the colour, the photo looks a little saturated but in real life it's quite like the Mazda deep red.

Curious to read about this. My wife had the choice of a GTE or a BMW 225XE.

She went the BMW route but I’ve always wondered what the other side would be like

Just keep an eye on the corners of the wells in the boot. Lots of water can get in, before it’s even noticed. Usually by then,it’s into the boot floor, soaking the rear seats and under the rear carpets. Hopefully it’s been sorted by them. You’re right about the colour, I’ve seen it in the flesh, and the pic doesn’t do it justice. Enjoy.
