Hello all, thought I'd start a thread for my recently acquired V8 Vantage N430.

My first car of this sort, previous vehicles predominantly hot hatches, vans and also at present an A4 DTM. Decided life is too short and I had the v8 itch that NEEDED scratching, these are now at a point where they were attainable providing a little common sense applied in terms of contingency for needing a bit of TLC every now and then (over and above standard servicing).

Originally I had set out for 'just a V8 vantage in manual', after all i wanted this to be driver focused which I feel a weekend car should be. One thing led to another the budget increased, then i found this on pistonheads advertised by Shmoo automotive. Well a few messages back and forth and a viewing was booked! A lengthy test drive later... (Ed clearly knew how to get me hooked) and a deposit was left. Fast forward to collection day and I'm over the moon, a little surreal for me, I'm not a wealthy man by any stretch and thus I am left with that incredible feeling every time I see the car...it's mine.. I own an Aston.. words I never thought I would utter.

I know it's not the fastest, or best handling, or best equipped but my God does every journey feel like an event and just a slight press on that loud pedal has a grin across my face! To me that's what a GT/sports car should do!

Sure you're bored of my mutterings so I'll let some pictures do the talking!

Great buy. Timeless styling, great V8 sound, manual, no interfering electronics or massive touchscreens, perfect! Looks like a keeper to me! Plenty fast enough for a road car no matter what anyone says, no excuses required.

Fabulous looking thing, I'm sure that everytime you press the pedal on the right it makes you forget about any trouble!

I've always wanted one of these, would really *love* to pick one up one day. They seem like a perfect blend of tourer + sports car.

Enjoy!

I love the paintwork on these and that’s probably the best combination.

I had a V8 Vantage a few years back - really reliable, servicing was good value even at main dealer, and it always felt like an event.

Lovely; looks to be a superb drivers car... As close to analogue as you'd get I think

Thanks all, first service completed today by David Appleby Engineering, revealed a couple of small issues but nothing I wasn't really prepared for (start of corrosion on the rear subframe which seems to be common on these).

Congrats. Would rather take that out VS most ‘modern’ stuff. Proper.
