After following some of the great Reader's Cars threads on PH and having just changed my car I've been inspired to start my own.

I've owned and enjoyed a very late Subaru BRZ for the last 2 and half years, I only managed 7000 miles but loved every mile but it's time for a change so the BRZ went to WBAC on Sunday

I've always liked the Mustang and during my research I kept coming back to the Bullitt, it wasnt so much the movie link, if I'm honest I find that a little cheesy I just really liked the slightly more subtle look of the Highland Green and unadorned bodywork.

Monday saw myself and a couple of car savy pals heading north to check out a 2019 25000 mile example.

First impressions were positive, apart from a mk1 XR2 I owned in 1987 it's the only Ford I've every looked at and tbh it was better than expected. I think sometimes you can read too many reviews, watch too much youtube.

The test drive on damp unfamiliar roads with 2 worn rear tyres was absolutely fine, it's got plenty of go but you have make it go, it never felt like it was going to catch me out. It's obviously very different to the BRZ, bigger, heavier with lots more grunt but that's exactly what I wanted

FSH from Ford with the last one in June including a plug change(4 years or 40,000 miles I think) New rear tyres and front brake pads to be fitted before delivery next week

Insurance was more or less the same as the BRZ and this is the last year of the "luxury car tax"

When the car arrives it's going to a local Mustang specialist for a check over and some lanoguard then I'm hoping to fit in a couple of road trips before the winter

Love it - it's one of the very few cars I would consider buying now and gave it serious thought last year. Just sold my TVR after 18 years and am replacing it with solar panels and have just bought the other car which has long been under consideration - a 350Z roadster which is a total bargain at today's prices.

Looking forward to seeing how the Mustang goes for you.

These and the Mach1 are in a league of their own when it comes to 'Modern' muscle cars IMO, very very nice!

I think if I got one I'd want to remove the 'Bullit' logo from the rear deck. Stunning cars.

That's really nice. There's one local to me and it is always one of those cars that holds your gaze.

Needs a lairy choice of rims, to offset the conservative body colour. Looks like it’s going to be bucket loads of fun, with a large helping of giggles.

Enjoy it!

Looks great. I've had my Mustang now since 2016 and it's been modified to make it exactly what I like. It was no problem declaring the mods to the insurer and the car itself has been dead reliable and the interior has held up remarkable well over time. It's still my favourite car to take on an aimless drive just for the pleasure of the 6spd and muscle car lairiness.

Hope you end up with as many smiles as I have behind the wheel!

Original Bullitt, film, car and score very very cool

Modern Highland Green Mustang very cool

It's the Bullitt badges on a modern Mustang that I'm not sure about. I see some owners remove I suspect I won't but it was the one thing I wasn't too sure about

Thanks, that's always good to hear and something I've seen repeated by owners across forums/FB groups

Love the green stitching on the seats OP.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I've not seen the interior before. I really like the green stitching and green embroidered RECARO logo. That green is a fantastic colour.

I agree on the Bullitt rear badge. If it's easily changed and changed back again with a couple of screws or bolts I'd be tempted to change it for the galloping Mustang rear badge if it was mine. I thought when I first saw them.

The Toyota and the Mustang both look good in those colours.

Remember pricing up deals on these in the first gen, cracking prices back then should have!

Now thinking of as cheap a GT manual as I can find in good condition to get similar thrills!

None of them look as nice as the Bullitt in that green with all the nice bits though

Stunning car. thumbup

A manual V8 Mustang is probably the only new car on sale I'd actually like to buy if I could afford one! I better keep away from the used car classifieds.

Funnily enough the Mustang is one of the few cars I'd swap my GT86 for (which I've had since 2013).
Problem is I can only just get the '86 in the garage, I'm pretty sure a Mustang wouldn't fit.

Absolutely loving this!
It is what the better half and myself have pencilled for our Boxster 986s replacement once a few financial things drop into place.
Tell us more and more pictures please.

While not massive it is a bit longer(+550mm approx) and wider(+140mm approx) than the GT86/BRZ
