Hi All - new car time!
Found out that my lovely wife had been conspiring behind my back with one of my best friends! SHOCK! HORROR!

...to buy me this:

It's a 40th birthday present, I've been fancying a Boxster for a while and was thinking of getting one in a couple of years time. Now I don't have to. I was (and remain) properly gobsmacked.

The car's a late 986 2.7 with about 120k miles. I actually know the previous owner, he's a friend of a friend and I know he bloody doted on this car. Recently had new brake pipes done for the MOT and new brakes. I'm still discovering things about it and have only driven it once so far, but it's really nice. Going to be my main car once my e-Golf goes back. One minor fix on the indicator to do, but nothing serious.

Nice, been thinking hard about trading my Z4 for a Boxster. May I add the gold stripe and wheels are not to my taste, I would remove the stripe and return the wheels to silver.

Happy motoring.

I admire your wife's taste.
In cars obviously.

Funny enough, when she "came back from the shops" in it instead of her Golf my first thought was "Has Karen bought a new car? No, she can't have done, she thinks Boxsters are ugly"!
Though the Rave green Golf with multichrome wheels is hers, so not all bad. smile

You most certainly can add that - we're all different. I love the JPS vibe, plus I have a Royal Enfield Himalayan that's black with gold wheels, so it's all matchy-matchy smile

Well just by way of contrast I like the JPS look too, but then I used to smoke them back in the 70s!

That’s awesome! Hope you have a great time with it, they are really fun cars.

I like the gold on the black, matches the interior and gives it a bit more presence.

Looking forward to any updates you post!
