Very cheap MOT'd, serviced, running, driving L322...
Discussion
Hi all.
Hoping to keep on top of this, documenting my journey with my recent purchase, an early 2002 L322 Range Rover Vogue 3.0 TD6.
It arrived on Monday, coming to me having been MOT'd in June, serviced, and a few other bits, for a seemingly very low £1,300.
11 owners, 166,000 miles, filler and paint in areas, but looks incredibly presentable considering it's age, mileage and price. I've always wanted an L322 and this is very much a "try before you buy" type of exercise, however it may be a keeper if the niggly things prove easy to sort.
Photos to follow.

First task to be undertaken (deep clean happening in due course) was to attempt to get the car in a slightly more... useable state. I get the impression that, although mechanically it's not been neglected too badly, cleanliness was never even considered. All touch points felt sticky and left a residue on your hands. Marginally better now - I must find that cheap steamer of mothers she'd just flung in the cupboard without using.
The boot is disgusting.
Unsurprisingly, under the boot floor, is also horrendous.
First task was to remove and clean the spare wheel - borderline pointless, I suppose, but it had been used, I assume on the front as it was covered in baked on brake dust.
Me, being me, got on with the task rather than thinking to take a "before" photo, I must get better at this!

The interior of the L322 was really such a revelation when they were first launched.
I was listening to a documentary of the history of the Range Rover P38, and when BMW first took over there were plans to do all sorts of development (inc a V12 engine... somehow...). In the end they realised it was too far gone and clean sheeted it and developed and launched the L322 early!
Go on... what warning light came on?

That's a lot of metal for £1300!
Always fancied a TDV8 L322 but the potential for bankruptcy led me to its smaller more reliable little brother, a Freelander 2 which is proving to be a great car this last 6 1/2 years.
Even if it goes bang tomorrow it'll be worth what you paid and more as a breaker. Watching this with interest.

Bargain!!! What a cracking looking car. Always been planning to get a L322 but my P38 keeps motoring along. Had it 18 years and do very little mileage over the last 4 and it has only broken down twice due to dodgy door handles. Will get one one day- definitely a Supercharged.

Looks great for the price and age. Well bought. Check the wheel speed and height sensors for the errors.
I'm sure you are aware of Powerful UK for all your 'bits'. The lettering on the boot is making my teeth itch!

Lettering purchased. Old stuff removed, just flatting out the superglue, painting in a few bits, then more flatting, polishing and finally, attaching the letters!
