Picked up this Clubman back in March. Have had a few MINIs over the years and always fancied a Clubman as they're a little bit more practical than the hatch. They're also fairly rare in LCI Cooper S trim also. The car only has 46k miles and has a good history.

Picture at garage:

Home after collecting:

After its first clean, new genuine mats, reg on and new centre caps:

First upgrade, GP2 steering wheel! Much nicer wheel to hold, its a fraction smaller as well as slightly thicker. Also has a different leather finish and shape:

Scangauge fitted. The second Gen MINI doesn't come with a coolant gauge as standard so its recommended to have a digital gauge fitted. Also has oil temp. intake temp, boost etc...

Nice man. I'll make sure to follow this thread as I've just bought a Cooper S Clubman too [an even rarer auto]! I pick mine up next week...bit of a difference compared to the Jaguar S-Type R I owned before smile

I really like these and really like that biggrin

I tried to talk the wife into one of these as her Jazz replacement but she's not won over by the looks...

And I'm not sure I'd fit in one very well haha

Slightly shorter than you at 6ft 4, but 120kg, ex-powerlifting competitor and still wide...

Having already sat in a few normal Mini's, it's not the leg room that's the issue, its encroaching onto the other side that bothers me laugh

Love it.

My last car was an R55 JCW. Sold it because the insurance wanted £1000 more for my daughter to learn it. Silly silly man! I still browse AT for another one. biggrin

Pic is from the 3 peaks road trip I did through PH. Fantastic week ending on track at Anglesey.

Lovely car! I had an R56 S for a while and it was just too small for two adults and two small kids so always fancied a Clubman S but as you say they're rare beasts.

Sure you'll have heard about the channel swap to boost sound quality, nice and simple free mod.

6'4 and 125kg 2nd row/gym enthusiast and a Mini fits well! I did many miles in an ex's, loved driving it.

This is pretty much my perfect spec Mini if I were to get one, even the colour.

Nice car.

Quick question. I have a Cooper S,(same dash layout as you) and of course no temp gauge. Never heard of the scangauge - how did you mount it in there?

Thanks

Nice OP. We bought a hatch about 2 years ago and I wish we had have bought a Clubman, but Mrs TAD doesn't like them and thinks they're too big.

I don't think the Mini has oil temp, I don't think it has a temp sensor? I know I've never been able to find it when looking.

It plugs in the OBD port in the lower dash (at least my Ultragauge does). There are brackets available for the ultragauge that screw into the original screw holes on the back of the rev counter to make it mount easier.

This is it just to the right of the rev counter.

Thanks for the comments!

I wasn't aware of the channel swap, I'll have a look into that thanks!

The ScanGauge is mounted simply with velcro at the bottom of the centre console... perfect space for it. The MINI doesn't have an oil temp sensor, that value is calculated but it still handy as a guide.

Orranje sell the ScanGauge units that are specifically set up for the R56.

I am quite interested in these but how is the rear legroom and boot space?
Will two baby car seats fit without having to push the front seats far forward?
Will a double pram fit in the back?
I just fancy something a but more interesting than a Mondeo estate.

They're still pretty small cars, although just not as small as the hatch. There is a little more leg room in the rear of the Clubman than the hatch, you probably would fit two baby seats in but you'd have to try it. Although I highly doubt a double pram would fit in the back. The boot is bigger than the hatch but not by much.. it just way more useable having the barn style rear doors and when you fold the rear seats down it is a flat loading space due to the raised floor with hidden compartment.
