Good Afternoon,

How are you all?

I couldn't find a section on the forum for newbie introductions.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I am a car & motorcycle enthusiast from North East Scotland.

I am currently a Mechanical Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry and in my spare time, I have been known to tinker with my two and four wheeled vehicles.

I currently have six vehicles, two motorcycles and three scooters.
The scooters have been bought for my teenage son as he wanted one as a project.

These are:

E83 X3
Daily Driver

Saab 9-3 V6
Daily Driver, with a few cheeky breathing mods (bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, exhaust etc on the way)

2k Caddy
Currently undergoing engine transplant and bodywork refresh

E39 Sport Imola Red
Currently undergoing a mechanical and bodywork refresh.

Golf V6 4Motion
I haven't gotten round to starting this project yet ??

Mk1 Focus 1.6
I have acquired this and unsure what to do with it at the moment.

Yamaha R1 (5VY)
This has just had a complete restore (complete stripdown and various new parts, rebuilt engine, exhaust, brakes, chain, sprockets etc etc)

Honda VFR 800 VTEC
Daily Runner, with a few modifications.

Hi from Oban.
You'll find being on PH rather hinders progress on your projects.

Welcome! The Reader's Cars section is generally a nice, friendly place, and there's a lot for everyone to like in that list.

Just out of interest, how do you find the vtec VFR as I know it was a divisive thing amongst fans of the 750s!

Fellow newbie here - never met a Saab owner I didn't like!

I've been driving a 1.8t 9-3 saloon for the last 18 months and I've loved every second of it. Quirkiest and most reliable car I've owned so far. What's the story with yours?

I will have a look at that section. Thanks.

The VTEC isn't as bad as it is made out to be, after while you get.use to the Rpm/VTEC changeover point and ensure you are the correct gear when required. VTEC mid corner isn't fun.

Thanks.

I am on a few E39 and Five forums.
Albeit, I haven't been active for a while.

The fleet isn't anything exciting driving

How are you finding PH ?

The 9-3 was bought so I could take my E39 off the road during winter and also address a few age issues with it.

This was a few years ago and I am still running it. It is a bit of a sleeper, which can be fun at times against newer vehicle biggrinbiggrin
