Before Christmas my attention was drawn to this car. An immaculate 2018 Alfa Giulia 2.2 Tecnica just 150hp, however 332Ib ft torque.

Finished in Alfa Red, this car ticked a few boxes. 8 speed ZF Auto, Climate pack with cooled glove box, electric memory seats, privacy glass, upgrade 18’’ turbine wheels, rear view camera, front and rear sensors, among a load of other features for an entry-ish level model.

2 owners from new with 113,000 miles and a full history, it was serviced 100 miles ago, has new Pirelli’s on the rear, it just needs a couple of wheels refurbed, which are being done before collection next week.

The chance to get a comfortable, stylish saloon for the commute and eventually agreeing a deal at just £10500 (significantly lower than the original asking price) it was too nice to not have.

Deposit paid - I get it next week, looking forward to seeing how this deals with 20,000 miles a year I’ll add for the next couple of years.

That looks really nice! There’s a worldwide Giulia WhatsApp group which is really useful for advice etc feel free to DM me and I can share the details (if you’re not already in it!)

Nice. A bit different from the default German choices and all the better for it!

Hopefully the DPF is in rude health given the high annual mileage. Enjoy!

Yes - I believe cars are better for being used, provided they are maintained. The car has been used for motorway miles, which is good so less stress on some components. I've got the full history for the car and know the 2 companies that have maintained it previously.

I've acquired the car from someone who works for an Alfa Dealership, and actually sold the car to the previous owner in 2020, he's bought the car off grid but had the car serviced, MOT, used car vehicle checked, alloys refurbed and valeted through work. It's a private sale, however I'm also fortunate I've known the chap I'm buying it from for a good few years.

I'll continue to put similar miles on it to what's it's done in the first 6 years, I plan to have it for 2-3 years at least.

Are you sure that 150ps engine has 332lbft torque; I thought that was the 180ps version & that the 150ps version has 280lbft. 280 still good for the size/weight of car?

Yeah, I could be wrong. Either way, it's plenty.

Lovely! Easily the best looking modern saloon.
If I ever need to go back to a diesel mile muncher these would be my first choice, keen to see how you get on!

Is it correct that you can’t disable traction control on them?

It is and I like the fact it looks like it cost a lot more than £10500, especially if I put my vanity plate on it. biggrin

It's pretty much the entry level model with upgraded wheels, however doesn't look it.

The night before collection day.

My bargain high-miles Giulia is having a machine polish ready for tomorrow morning.

Been 10 days since I agreed to buy it so a bit of a long wait, however I also know a lot of effort has been put in to preparing this car.

Looking forward to collection and having a proper long run in it over the weekend as I get acquainted with it.

Yes, but they’re still pretty playful in Dynamic… very balanced and lets you have a fair bit of slip before kicking in and saving you (Veloce in my case).

You can also add race mode with a button mod if you really want to put it through a hedge.

Great find OP, can’t believe how cheap this is! Keep the battery topped up to avoid issues and otherwise just enjoy it. I’d happily have another.

Great bargain, normally like keeping things original but that rear quarter view is shouting out for a dechrome on the windows. Interesting to see how the Alfa piles on the miles 😄

Thanks, I wasn’t particularly looking but it was too good an opportunity to miss.

The car has been sourced from an Alfa dealer but as a ‘trade sale’ and the battery condition has been checked as part of that.

I know it’s not fashionable but I quite like the chrome detail.
