Dacia Jogger Extreme Hybrid - Maybe a bit dull for PH....
Discussion
We picked up our new Jogger Extreme Hybrid 2 days before Xmas, and thus far I have to say I'm mighty impressed with it. I managed the 300 mile round trip to the folks fully loaded with two kids and the wife and a roof box and on the return journey even managed 50 mpg whilst stuck for 5 hrs in traffic!.
Its our first venture into something with additional electric power, and you really need the graphic on the digital display to tell you if its the engine or battery driving the wheels. its basic, but they have done just enough to make it mildly interesting for a 7 seater. I think it looks good in the Khaki green colour and the contrasting black wheels.....I'm yet to try out the 'Extreme' mode, and I'm doubtful it makes that much difference as its still only 2wd.
It will be interesting to see how it works as a daily......

Love these, something of the Matra Rancho about them (sort of) if you squint. Dacia have a fab colour palette at the moment too.
BTW, do you live in Rugby or prefer the oval ball?
They are oddly cool, and I think the Dacia solid grey and this Khaki colour seem to suit the utilitarian feel. BTW, do you live in Rugby or prefer the oval ball?

I'm firmly placed in the egg rolling category :-)

What like is the space in the 3rd row, or do you just use it for boot space? Did you come from another 7 seater?
I am off to look at a Seat Tarraco next week, massive boot.
Our youngest is disabled, so boot space is important (as his wheelchair needs to fit) as is the ability to occasionally use a 6th seat. So, first job was to remove one of the rear seats (other one kept in). Previous car was a Seat Alhambra. We looked at the Tarraco, and the boot is large, but its long rather than high which was no use for us, also, with the two rear seats, the jogger had more leg room for the 6th and 7th passengers. Tarraco was a really nice car though, just did not have the opening boot size big enough..I am off to look at a Seat Tarraco next week, massive boot.
My Logan Stepway is due to change this year, and given they no longer supply them, this is the obvious replacement. Definitely keep the thread updated, how long did it take for the dealer to supply? I'm starting to look at test drives in mid-Feb and wondered how long lead times/delivery are?
Will do my best to keep this updated..... regarding how long it took to arrive....We ordered at the start of Sept, and was expecting it in March, but they called us just before Xmas to say it was ready for collection. What I can say is for the last two days I've been using it to travel to and from work (although it is wifes car), I normally do this journey in my C class coupe Diesel but thought I would give it a go....this is a 54 mile / day commute which involves about 15 miles on the motorway and the rest though a few towns (and some in the new forest), traffic was not too bad this week.....without trying too hard this was the economy:

Over a month into Jogger ownership, and there really is not much to say. It just does its job, and does it well. 60mpg on a run, but round town 53mpg is about right....I find it to have plenty of power, and especially pulling out of junction in EV mode. No issues at all with the car, kids like it and feel comfortable in the back......and it has to be said (although subjective), I think the green is the best colour to get looks great with the black wheels. Missing the electric memory seats from our previous car, buts thats mainly because Im tending to use this car more (which irritates the wife)........
In a perfect world it would run further in EV only mode but then you are moving into plug territory.
On thing haven't fully sussed out yet is the B driving mode which increases the recharge rate. I have been tending to drive around in this mode, but when you go into standard D mode, the feels much more willing to move, So when i remember I use D mode on motorways and try to use B to do the brakes...Not sure if im doing it right !.

So I finally found a demo hybrid jogger last weekend, it was ok and will replace my Logan stepway, with an even bigger load space.
The dealer wasn't sure of delivery dates, but had some already allocated extreme in the shadow grey, the monthlies are in my budget, as I had more residual than I was expecting in the Logan.
Ordered and waiting,
One of the most painless car buying experiences I've had!
Bit shocked in some ways as I only went to try one!
