So guys I was the lucky one with the winning bid who has now taken ownership of the S3 on the pistonheads auction, am sure there are many opinions positive and always will be some negative ones BUT drove the car from Barnet yesterday home to Manchester and all I have to say is this car drives and feels absolutely amazing, smooth, solid not a bang or rattle anywhere and the pull on this thing is excellent when you put the foot down and sounds amazing, one happy new owner.

Couple bits to do wheels refurb, full fresh service incuding Haldex, minor minor bodywork touch up and good as new again.

Any recommendations in Manchester for the service please guys I am thinking Awesome Gti ?? But any recommendations appreciated

Well done, awesome car, love the colour too!

Can't go wrong with Awesome over in Irlam, they have looked after many a performance Audi for me and have always been excellent!

Awesome are good, I've found them expensive though and prefer local independents.

If you're on the South side of the city then try Links Automotive in Macclesfield - a mate of mine runs it as an ex-main dealer tech and they're spot on.

Is that the one with the MTM badge between the rear no. plate and OS rear lamps?

If so, nice looking car. I love the colour.

How much did it go for? Family issues doubled my to do list in October and I forgot about it.

Thanks guys I took it to awesome gti, made the mistake of saying I wait for it not realising 4 hours for service, haldex and wheel alignment 😂
Would use them again although couple negatives was when they filled the washer bottle up water kept coming out, was 17:00 time for closing and technician said he has looked over it all and could not find why it was leaking !!!! (I did expect a little more effort so will have to take it elsewhere as I am not mechanically minded at all, and to top it off the car has an airlock and not getting to full temperature and heater not blowing hot so has to go back in now when I get a day off 👎🏻

It's my experience that Awesome do the job booked, and anything else, no matter how tiny, requires another book-in and a four week wait. Nothing wrong with that of course, but if you want to be actually 'looked after' go to LINKS.

Fellow S3 8l owner here, they can be fun cars and very capable.

For peace of mind check in the wheel arches at the bottom of the front wings, they have a habit of collecting mud, water all sorts then rusting out from the inside.

Enjoy

Really interested to see how you get on, I was sorely tempted by that auction!

Carinaman yes that is the one mate, £6111 plus pistonheads fee 👎🏻Alfa Gtv thanks mate already been checked out and all clear and rust free the car is is great condition, Cambs_Stuart glad you didn’t it would have been more competition for me haha personally I think I stole the car for the final price and George who I bought it off was a real nice chap, cared for the car and the amount of invoices for it is insane ! No penny spared, car is lots of fun to drive and feels solid and picks up brilliant. Happy right now
