Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Discussion
I must be getting old..well i actually am old.
Although I was inches away from doing it 2 years ago I've finally bitten the bullet and got myself a Wrangler Rubicon.
My previous 3 cars (if you ignore an E92 M3 that only lasted for 4 months) were a M3CSL, a highly modified Ph1 Clio V6 and an Aston Martin vantage V12S so decided to bin the pursuit of speed and power...ok, maybe the Clio V6 didn't quite fit that ethos, I've always fancied a Rubicon so decided to look for one.
Found one in my local dealer, a 22 plate 4 door with only 2200 miles on in Sarge Green which I think is the best colour for them by far and should collect it tomorrow. It's booked in for a few mods consisting of different wheels with 35" tyres, stubby steel front bumper and the equivalent rear bumper, 2.5" suspension lift, better shockers and tubular side steps. All of this will be done within the next 3 or 4 weeks.
No plans to go off-roading, I just like the way they look.
All I need to do now is grow a mullet hair style.

My wife looked at another Wrangler, the last one she had was a 2007/57 one of the first of the 'new' shape.
Unfortunately, the latest ones are too big for her to get comfortable with reach, seat and pedals. She is quite petite and struggles in a number of cars. No more Wranglers for us, unless we go back to the last millennium models.

Took a ride out to Storm Jeeps today for a couple of reasons.
Firstly to find out where their new premises where and secondly to set eyes on the bits that'll be going on the car. Booked in for 31/10-01/11.
Below are the wheels that will have 35" dia tyres, steel front and rear bumpers, 3" dia side steps with a non slip insert where they'll be stood on.

Sorry, I've only just seen your post, but see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIwkDIgQaSc if you haven't already.TIA.
I don't know how they got the name 'Easter Eggs', and this chap didn't comment on the rear window one, which can be only seen from inside, like several other Jeep models.

That’s great; it’ll be a fun thing to own and live with.
We hired a Wrangler when we were in the US in June. It was in High Altitude trim with a full length electric sunroof - like a posh Webasto - and the 3.7 V6 engine. It absolutely drank fuel but sounded nice and was sufficiently quick. It was also massive fun and I loved it.
Since we get so few trim options in the U.K. it would have to be Rubicon for me here too. I’ve always though the Rubicon alloys are a bit shiny for the intended use and your replacements look amazing.

As a follow up to the video, he missed the obvious easter egg on the dash start up, theres a Jeep thats drives along the bottom of the screen,
Lastly, if you do hire one in the states, I wondered what was going on when several other Jeep drivers were signalling the V for victory sign at us on the road, turns out its a sign of being in the Jeep Club so to speak.... So we joined in. A nice way to acknowledge fellow owners.
