Always fancied one of the early shape SE5/5a and have bought a 1972 project with a 2.9 Cosworth engine in it, non- runner at the moment but looking to get it back on the road.

Owned by an engineer for many years who transplanted the engine and 5 speed gearbox, along with heated seats etc. here it is years ago (John Emery's car), but believe me it is much rougher now. Looking forward to getting stuck into it. It will be my London ULEZ car wink

I'm in. Would love one of these if I had space for it, so well up for enjoying one vicariously.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone posted this, as usual PistonHeads does not disappoint.

Same here, always quite fancied one of these, but don’t have the space at the moment.

Had an SE6a project for a couple of years although never got it running, so I’d be interested to see updates!

I like them lots. Was there a chap on here who put an Alfa Busso from a front wheel drive car into one?

Yes I am, I remember having the chance on one with a rotten chassis but couldn't hack repairing it so passed, a good ten years later I lived nearby a GTE club member who had helped commission new chassis, funny eh?
