Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6
Discussion
Right.. Since I've had the iPace, which is a fanatic daily, my plan was always to have something special as a stable mate, and something that I can enjoy a weekend drive in, and take to various events, also that shouldn't loose too much money... I wanted it to feel an event to drive, and sound good, it didn't have to be a great handling car, also not too expensive...
I had various ideas, such as Mk2 MR2, 986 Boxster, E86 Z4, or MX5. I also started looking at the 916 Spiders with the 2.0 Twin spark. I also had a budget that I wanted to stick to.. I then realised it would be nice to have something the kids can come out in too. I spotted this on AT, and that all went out of the window. Its a 2001 GTV, in Red, with tan MOMO leather, and teledials. Also the mighty 3.0 Busso! My budget rocketed. I realised I wanted to buy the best I could find.
This example is a 2001, Phase 2, with 64k on the clock. It is a Japanese import, so there's no rust at all which is good. One owner in Japan, and 2 since its been in the UK in 2001 I think. Its always had waxoyle applied, and has a full specialist history since the UK. The seller was great, first doing a video chat, then went to his house. There really doesn't seem anything wrong. The interior is in great condition, and smells great too. The only thing is the speedo reading KMH, there is a Head up display that the seller has connected, this seems to work fine. And it still has the Japanese radio that only plays radio 2.. Although the Busso should suffice for now! I may get a new head unit at some point. The drivers seat has been lowered as well apparently.
It feels such an event to drive, and does feel like a mini Ferrari, with the tan leather, and glimpses of red, and the sound of the Busso. It has a Cybox exhaust which is just loud enough to enjoy, but no drone, it looks good too.
My plan is to hold on to this one, only use it in good weather, no winter driving.
Now on to some photos. Sorry, there's a few!! I'll get some good photos of the engine tomorrow too.

That does look the perfect spec. You’ll get used to the kmh speedo once you’ve sussed 50 is 30 etc. Its a worthwhile exchange for zero rust!
It certainly had everything I wanted on it
That's true, should get used to it hopefully.
That's what I thought too l, well worth it to have the benefit of no rust.

They're a lovely car, the engine being the main thing, but the interior, the tiny windscreen, the height etc. all make it feel special.
Had mine for many years, it was the dark blue with tan, which was beautiful, but the red is better
Enjoy!
The engine really is a work of art, in sound, perfmance, and looks. This is my first Busso, it's certainly lived up to it's status so far. Had mine for many years, it was the dark blue with tan, which was beautiful, but the red is better

Enjoy!
That's it, they all blend together to make it feel an event to drive, I didn't realise how low they are as well.
Blue with tan sounds a stunning combination as well
