I picked it up this Friday to replace my Mk3 Focus RS and My Range Rover so I have one car that does everything and save some money
It was registered in July 2021 as has done 26,000 miles
I am very happy so far and it is faster than i expected and handles very well
It has only got the winter pack and style pack
The modes are good and when you start it up it is in sport
I turn off lane assit off
I am use to infotainment systems on modern cars I did have a A45S before I think i have got the set up for R now

Here are some photos

Very nice.

What do you think about the interior? I’ve never sat in the current Golf, but I’d be surprised if its anywhere near as annoying the journalists like to bleat on about.

Thanks no issues and the seats are very good and I have not found it annoying at all

Nice colour and like the wheels. As above, had my Mk7 for 9 years and still love it.

It has been crying out for proper brakes for years, 4 piston monoblocks instead of those boat anchors.

Just update I have done a 1,000 miles
I have really enjoyed it so far I like its way you can blend in and can pack punch when required with my last couple of hot hatches you got people driving against you all the time
The handling and grip amazing and the new rear diffs do a great job you can really feel them doing their job
The driving modes and gearbox work well and gear changes are brilliant and smooth and it lets you really hunt the perfect change up or down
It sounds good the car from the inside and there are some bangs and pops but not over the top
It seems to be faster than the stats
The sitting position is very comfortable and on long journeys there are no issues
Very surprised the MPG is good
The infotainment system you get used to you and lack buttons as well you have just have to do a preflight check on switching off lane assit and start stop
I got tyre defect due to a pothole at speed so had change the tyres to Michelin pilot sport 5 and only done couple 100 miles and seem very good and grip is fantastic.
So this will be a keeper and I recomend you go for a long test drive and ignore the reviews by the car mags who get hung up about the lack of buttons
