Megane RS250 CUP 'Club Sport' spec
Discussion
Haven't done one of these in years!
Bought in December 2022 as a fun weekend car (I live in Mid Wales so no shortage of decent roads) but mainly to use for track days as I/we learn the ropes. Not to mention it's a great hobby to share with my son....Figured a readers cars thread would be a good place to keep a log blog going...
Specs for those interested...

Once home it wasn't long before it was out again...

First track day in over 10 years booked for the 28th of Jan! Had the car checked over by the local garage and other than needing some new DS2500's on the front (probably would've been fine but didn't want to risk it) it was good to go!
Suffice to say it was a great day..The car drove without issue, quick enough for me and clearly at home on track. Oulton was very demanding and seriously good fun.....My son has not long passed his test so jumping in the car (with an instructor) was a real eye opener for him! He did really well and didn't bottle it even when it was really busy.
Proud Dad moment...

It wasn't long before we booked another...So earlier this week we arrived at Beford Autodrome..
Seeing as we arrived a day early it would be rude to not have a few squirts at Santa Pod to set the mood....

Then on to Bedford!

Bedford, IMO is a fantastic track for beginners like us to build up confidence and really let go..Nothing is blind, there's no crests, loads of runout and you can get some high speeds... and although maybe not quite as exhilarating as Oulton for it's complexity it really helped me get comfortable.
Unfortunately a split decat ended our day just before lunch so we cut our losses and headed home...

That's all for now....

Nothing beats a well sorted Renaultsport on track for £4£ fun. Yes you can go faster, yes you can get more raw, yes you can drift in something else but for sheer easy to access fun, Renaultsport is where it's at.
This 100%I wanted to buy a useable weekend track car that’s special.
Stock these have a great reputation, and off the bat a stock car is more than than enough but I didn’t want to buy a car that couldn't slip into daily driving.
It’s a very hard ride, everything is a danger to the splitter, it’s noisy in the cabin, makes pops and bangs even when trying to be nice.
But on track it effortless.

Small update:
Very happy to get the replacement de-cat fitted today....The last one was properly borked.

And along with a sparkling fresh MOT I'm back on the road.
I'm having the rear seat delete smartend up this weekend which will be cool, so I'm looking forward to that. Will post pics for anyone interested.
