Ok so I took 12 years from signing up to sharing my car…. Oops. Not taking quite so long with the new one. I had my red 335i for 2 1/2 years and loved it but the opportunity came up to purchase a car I’ve wanted since I was a teenager (ok the e92 wasn’t out when I was a teenager but…..). So pride of place on the driveway now is this:

Bit of a cross country trek to pick it up but worth it for the drive up there in the 335i and the drive back in this. 😎😎. Totally met and exceeded my expectations and the spec is awesome. Fingers crossed these go up in value like the previous generation models. 😎😎

Not much to begin with. Enjoy it first and foremost. Simple things first though:

1. Upgrade the Halos - don't like the yellowy/orange halogen so will change for white LED
2. Upgrade interior lighting to LED
3. People keep on about Modstock exhaust upgrade so will research this

Thats about it for the time being I think.

I think its just all the filters applied.

Nice car OP. I wouldnt hold your breath on values...the whole status quo on how prices move on classics previously is going to be out the window post 2030 when I am sure the government will do everything it can to tax ICE vehicles off the roads.

That looks great. thumbup

And being one of the last M cars with an N/A engine makes it pretty special so long term I can see them being pretty sought-after - much like early Ms are now.

But given our current economic state anything could happen to values in the short term so just enjoy it!

Loving it so far. Rod bearings and actuators done too so a nice bit of future proofing.

How are you finding the difference in torque?

As I’ve got older I’ve definitely moved away from high revving NA cars for daily drivers.

To me the E92 M3 is a brilliant car when lightened up and driven at the top end of the rev range but a bit less appealing in the low to mid range. Of course the 335i could never match the theatre when on it.

Lovely car, can't see them going anything other than up in value either. I think they look perfectly proportioned and I particularly like the rear... so many cars have a poor rear... not the E92 M3.

Marked difference. My N54 was stage 1 and all the get up and go started around 2000-2500rpm and it went mental. This does need to be driven but once you’re up around 3500-4000rpm it does pick up well. And sounds good/better obviously and the gearbox is miles better (DCT vs ZF auto).

You've done the right thing going for the DCT as well I reckon. Mine was a manual, and at times...especially if you were in the wrong gear the engine would feel quite limp/gutless for me(not helped because the car weighed 1650kg). The DCT makes the best of the engine in my opinion for sure. driving

The ZF6 isn’t the best in the 335i. I’m going to get the ZHP gearbox flash in new year. A friend has done it with his 330i and says it’s better. Not perfect, but better.

The DCT was a great box and it suits the S65 really well having driving my uncles old E90 M3 a few times (a car I wished I’d bought off him instead of the 140i that I ordered).

Was always going to go for DCT/auto. Old and lazy now!! Found a nice sweet spot setting for it and when not in M mode too so all good.

I did XHP flash in mine. Started straight in at stage 3 but found it too harsh so redid it on stage 2 and that was ok.

That's really nice!

My pal had an E92 and E90 M3 in the other week; both superb cars. E92 too small for me but the E90 felt much better

Would love to have a drive in either though
