Toyota GR Yaris - Circuit pack
Discussion
After 15 months of waiting it finally arrived!
A few months after I ordered I got a test drive that left me a bit cold, it was an awful day weather wise and I just didn't get on with it but kept the order open anyway.
I'm glad I did as now Ive had it a few weeks and done a lot of miles on my favourite roads its totally grown on me! The way you can hustle on back roads is phenomenal, the only thing lacking is the complete silence from the exhaust, this will be sorted at a later date.
I had a lot of Imprezas back in the day and this is a very simliar driving experiance, a good friend has 2 Impreza P1's and he couldnt believe how simliar the handling, grip and power delivery was.
So far the mods list is -
Maxton front splitter and rear spolier extension
Carbon front stone gaurds
Rear arch PPF
A Teigwa mirror riser, as I'm 6ft this is a game changer as I couldn't see where I was going on left handers!
Airtec induction kit.
Compomotive TH1882 wheels with custom decals, for as long as i can remember i've wanted a set of these and in my opinion suit the rally car vibe and also saves the ridiculously expensive standard wheels from damage.
An exhaust will be next and maybe a tuning box.

Been to look at one today and a test drive, im 6 foot 2 and fit in with about an inch above my head but i know you can get a seat lowering kit. I totally agree on the mirror issue as i was ducking to look under the mirror. It just seems to grip and grip and go. Those wheels look superb and the mods you have put on suit the car well. Look forward to further updates / mods.
Now to go and check the piggy bank lol

Fantastic looking GR there! The front lip, and rear spoiler extension make a big difference too.
I had a set of OZ rally racing on mine, but those Compomotives, in that colour look so much better,
Enjoy
Cheers, yeah I really dont like the OZ wheels, they've tried too hard to make a replica of their own retro wheels and in my opinion made a mess of it!I had a set of OZ rally racing on mine, but those Compomotives, in that colour look so much better,

The comps are almost identical to the OZ mags from back in the day, a better offset too so no need for spacers.
Great looking car, having owned 3 P1’s over the years I would say the GR handling is better. The P1 was a very special car for me and reminds of the good times with my farther, there is something very similar with GR, it’s a great laugh on the right road. I haven’t used my 560BHP M2 Comp since getting the GR, the M2 is an absolute rocket ship compared to GR but I’m having way too much fun in this wicked little car.

i just came out of an OG M2 and into this, the only thing i miss is the noise of the N55 engine. This is one of my mates 2 P1's, absolutely mint fully restored and my other mates Type RA. We had amazing blast through the Scottish highlands the first week I had the GR.

Did a back to back yesterday on the same road, the M2 is ballistic compared to the GR hardly surprising tbf, the M2 felt brilliant when I got it right! the way the M diff works is something else, it’s like the chassis length changes and slingshot you out the corner.
The GR being manual felt more in engaging, the sound isn’t remotely comparable but it’s such a confident inspiring car and so good at cross country driving, I had just as much maybe a little more fun in the GR. Its a lot easier to drive the GR at 10/10th and the Speedo doesn’t look as scary, both very good cars which go about it in very different ways. Conclusion love them both equally and have no intention of selling either.
May look into an exhaust of the GR and a Litchfield remap.
I thought I'd update this now I've had the car a decent length of time and 8500 miles in.
Not too many more mods, some H&R springs and 15mm spacers have helped the looks and the body roll in the corners. A Whifbitz exhaust with OPF delete has been the biggest game changer, it now sounds like a proper rally car!
I also recently fitted a DTUK tuning box, I'm still messing with settings as I get the occasional 'reduced power' warning come up but its really does pull well and should be putting out north of 300bhp.
Back to summer set-up now with the cross climates removed and the front splitter back on!

The STI Type RA looks awesome and familiar, I'm sure I've seen it around Rosyth or Dunfermline area. This is one of my mates 2 P1's, absolutely mint fully restored and my other mates Type RA. We had amazing blast through the Scottish highlands the first week I had the GR.
