BMW 330i (G20)
Discussion
Following on from my previous thread (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=1864690)...
While idly browsing the classifieds (as you do on a lazy Sunday evening), I noticed a nicely-specced G20 330i in Msport Plus guise... Colour combination is quite boring, but you can't have everything.
It doesn't have electric seats (not bothered, 99% of the time it's me driving) and heated steering wheel (this one I do miss and will probably retrofit at some point). It doesn't have High Beam Assistance either, as back then it was only available as part of the visibility pack which included the lasers at a substantial cost.

- Driver Assistance Professional, ie Adaptive Cruise with Stop & Go, Traffic Jam assist, Lane Centering etc which was basically what I was really after even on my F30 but couldn't find any. It also includes the usual DAT stuff (BLIS, CMbB etc)
- Parking Assistance Plus with 360 cameras, automated parking
- HUD
- Adaptive suspension
- Μperformance diff, ie the electronically-contolled limited slip differential that started being used in the M2, M3 and the likes
- Lumbar support (yeap, still a bloody extra)

Yeap, correct! Wireless charger is a bit pants, it's more akin to an oven for the phone I had a rental Cadillac in the US as a rental and that one seemed to have a cooled charger (either a fan or a Peltier? not sure).
I've done some soft coding using Bimmercode, mainly to enable the Assisted Driving view in the cluster. I'd like to get the Lane Change bit done as well, but that requires Esys. Might wait until I source a heated steering wheel and do the changes in one go.

Very nice, my Dad has had one of these pretty much since this generation came out, very similar to yours- his is black sapphire metallic and doesn't have the extra driver assistance stuff. It's a very nice car indeed, definitely a big step up from the F10 520d it replaced, so it'll be interesting to see how you feel it compares to the F30- especially since that was such a nicely specced example.
Bloody quick too, as much as I love the M340i, in the real world there really is no need for it over one of these. I'm pretty sure these have launch control too- it's a bit of a hidden feature which I thought only the M's and 'M-lites' had but apparently any model with Sport+ does. Never been able to get my Dad to find out on his but could be good fun to play with!

Lovely. I have the M340i in black/creme. Wonderful tool: quiet and refined and 40mpg on the motorway, 386bhp everyehere else.
You have the adaptive dampers too. Look into the comfort plus bimmercode setting.
Yeap, done that and set Eco and Comfort dampers to Comfort Plus. You have the adaptive dampers too. Look into the comfort plus bimmercode setting.

They do, yes, if it has the Sport Automatic Transmission then it gets LC as well. The sequence for engaging it changes compared to the Fxx platform but it is indeed there!RammyMP said:
This was on my shortlist, I ended up getting another diesel. Hey ho!
If it’s got adaptive lights you don’t need high beam assist? My cars got matrix lights, I just leave it in auto all the time and they light up when required.
I'll be honest, I haven't used it at nighttime yet to be able to take advantage of the adaptive LEDs but my understanding was that HBA was only available with the Lasers at launch. Afterwards, they started giving away the steering column control module with the HBA button on the LHS stalk and you could purchase it through the connected drive store. If it’s got adaptive lights you don’t need high beam assist? Thank you guys!
In-gear acceleration is quite different to the F30 (for example, to the extent that I was wondering if that one was broken or this one is mapped I guess the 50Nm of additional torque and the different gear ratios are behind this. Top end is roughly the same though so most likely stock.

For reference, the part number required is 8746693, going rate seems to be around 300 pounds on ebay. Will see if my hands are that cold In other news after spending 3 weeks with a Mercedes C220d (w205) while away, I am glad to be back in my car.
