So I had an FK2 from 2016 until last week, the longest I've ever had a daily, it was a good car but after replacing my E61 M5 with it I never really got that excited by it, don't get me wrong it was very good at what it did, but I just had no real emotional connection to the car.

I'd been looking at replacing it for a while, and since I inherited a sweet little daily which I use to plod back and forth to work the civic was just sat outside the house doing nothing, because of this I had to keep my livingroom blinds shut so I didn't have to see it!

Now however I have replaced it with something a little more pleasing to the eye, and the ear, sadly not the wallet.

Jerez "Black" with a few little modifications, I'll just be maintaining and enjoying this for a number of years, unless it ends up in a hedge, which is highly likely!

That’s lovely.

I was hell bent on buying one this year until I realised that the fuel bills were going to wear thin very quickly. I think they look fab, and that noise is intoxicating.

What mods does the car have?

Fantastic car thumbup

Not a fan of the black alloys; you lose all their 'gloriness' IMO; but the car does sit well on them!

Looks great!

Are you going to get the wheels resprayed silver?

Black in black is too much for me, but with the contrast it would look great.

Someone near me has an E92 M3, you can hear it coming for miles around as it's got a (much) louder exhaust (and it's driven enthusiastically everywhere!)

Great cars and enough power to be fun and engaging without getting silly. The first and only V8 M3 and the last NA car, a future classic.

C'est magnifique.

In a world of turbos and crap sounding engines, this is an antidote of qualitative measures.

Enjoy!

Thanks chaps, yeah I’ll be getting the wheels done silver as the detail of them is lost by the black but maybe a shadow silver rather than hyper, I’m loving the colour of the car though, sometimes it looks dark blue and other times it’s black.

It’s got the Gruppe M intake and Akrapovic sports cats, Birds have remapped it to a supposed 460bhp but I’ll get it on the rollers soon to see how true that is, the gearbox has the GTS flash and it has a sprint booster fitted too.

It sounds lovely and since I won’t be using it as a daily I can sort out all the niggles, maintain it and enjoy it.

Stunning mate, I've always wanted to scratch the E92 M3 itch, hopefully one day. Enjoy it!

That sounds spot on...

Sounds similar to my Azurite Black F01 730D; that's black, but generally it's blue laughwink

I bet the exhaust on yours sounds superb... biggrin

The other day I took the car to get the wheels balanced and also got an alignment.

I was sure something was going to shear off, you know the noise when you're tuning a bolt and you wince as you're sure it's about to shear something clean off, there was a LOT of that going on, but the lads managed to sort it out.

An added bonus was that I checked the back of the alloys and they are bona fide BMW wheels, hooray!!!

I also confirmed the Akrapovic 200 cell sports cats were under there, which was nice.

Halfords just had 10w-60 cheap so I've ordered 12 litres of that and I got an oil filter and some new sump plugs from BMW, I'll get some plugs and do that also after it goes on the rolling road on the 1st, you'd think I'd do it before but I want to see if it makes more power post service, also BMW wanted £717 to do the oil and plugs, barmy.

New plugs can make quite a different. Evolve put an E92 M3 on the the dyno before and after plugs and there was a 13bhp difference.

Why didn’t the garage adjust the camber? Front and rear are out and are adjustable.

Ah the Steeple Ashton petrol pumps. I used to live down the road from here and would always pop up to see what cars are being photographed.

I still have this, I even drove it the other week which was nice, anyway time for some TLC. BMW wanted £716 to do the engine oil and plugs, no thanks.

Halfords had a deal on the oil and Cotswold BMW supplied new sump plugs, washers and an oil filter, ECP was best for the plugs.

Decided to have a look at the air filter too, £200+ for a replacement, £8 for a can of K&N oil from Amazon.

The air filter cone was mainly sand and insects!

After soaping it up and running water through it from the inside out and letting it dry:

After applying the K&N red spray oil stuff it looked like a new filter:

Finally it was all seated back where it belonged:

The oil was manky, but I managed to fill it up so it was bang on the level first go, hardly the semi transparent nectar I was expecting!

Finally the plugs, D4MJT came to assist, we had never done it before but I'd seen some bloke on Youtube took the scuttle off for access to the awkward plug, 43 minutes start to finish including taking the Gruppe M out, and the scuttle off and putting it all back together, not bad!

I've also just been on an early morning jaunt to Wakefield to secure this spicy badboy, my neighbours are going to hate me (more):

Nice car OP, I’ve toyed with the idea of one for a while, had a E46 M3 some years ago and loved it. What is the market like, did you see a lot of dogs before you came across this one? I ask as I bought and sold my M3 when they were at their cheapest and whilst I’m not the fussiest buyer I did come across a few that had been owned and run badly

What exhaust is that?

I’m trying to get the back box modded on my 335i and was worried it’d annoy the neighbours until one of the chaps down my road bought a 5l Mustang which makes a right old racket.
