Well, what can I say, I've made the jump and bought my first Maserati. II was looking at Bentley CGT's, but couldn't get passed the old man look)
It gets delivered on Thursday and I'm very excited. Now in a completely rash move, I've bought the car, without seeing it in the flesh and having never got close to one of these before.....
70k miles and service just completed, new MOT and a full tank of fuel, which I imagine will not last long. Insurance ridiculously cheap, considering I've started a new policy with 0 ncb for this car as its used on my Megane.
Now, with Donington booked for Nov 7th, dare I even consider a GT car in place of my Megane..... choices.
Congratulations ,looks mean in that satin finish, big jump from the Magane and why not ,cut all the inbetween models out It gets delivered on Thursday and I'm very excited. leading up to a super car ownership. just realised you didn't say what model Megane ,assume not a basic model.
Sometimes the on the spot decisions are the best, The Bentleys more suited for the golf course than the race track, Enjoy !!!

Thank you for the reply. We have two Megane's, one of them 110hp, the other 310hp
I wanted a car that could take Mrs and Junior Spoon when going for trips out and also one that I can enjoy in my own time. The Megane's are staying, so this is an extra :-)
I thought you were keeping something quiet , 310 bhp not to shabby ,sounds like a lot of fun,I wanted a car that could take Mrs and Junior Spoon when going for trips out and also one that I can enjoy in my own time. The Megane's are staying, so this is an extra :-)
Keeping all three ,even better.

Great cars, perfect for the road but not the track IMHO especially with the smaller front brakes which the 4.2 has. I've had mine for a few years and love it but 1900kg is a lot to track. It gets delivered on Thursday and I'm very excited. Congrats, epic car, still miss mine (2016 GTS), although looking forward to my Roma I should be collecting in the next week or two.It gets delivered on Thursday and I'm very excited. Also, you got the better one with the oval grill IMO rather than the later one which isn't as elegant looking. Enjoy!
Congratulations! I have a supercharged GT86 as my other car, so similar power to your faster Mégane, and I'd definitely rather take that on track than my Maserati. The Maser is fast in a straight line but you can definitely feel the weight. With a light foot I can get just over 20mpg so I hate to think how much I'd spend on fuel taking it on a trackday.
The Meg is lovely too BTW, I think that shape is very pretty!

I hate these threads.......it immediately makes me start looking! I've had 3 in the past - 4.2 (my first step towards supercar-ish ownership), a 4.7 GranCabrio MC and then a 4.7 Sport. All had slightly different personalities about them, none really ever let me down (the occasional odd niggle like any car). And now I've stepped, but have a Levante Trofeo for my daily (excessive, but whatev's!).
Anyhoo, I would agree that this isn't a track car - its just too heavy and really not nimble. As a GT to take the family out, then perfect - and the noise, sweet baby Jesus, the noise...!

I can tell you, £19,750, including delivery £360 from North Scotland, full 70k mile service inc spark plugs, full tank of fuel and a new mot.
I'm a little envious; The cheapest GT here in Singapore is a 2012 reg.@ £61k, approximately the same price as a brand new Honda Jazz I'm still a little way off getting something like this, as mentioned previously the car prices here are 3 times the UK prices.
I would love to know, if anyone can tell me; About what age of child will still fit in the back? As a 2+2 it looks to be the roomiest option, but I've never had the chance to check it out properly. At 50yo I still think I'm too young for a Bentley!
I have a 7yo and 10yo (maybe 9+12 when I could really think about getting one)
Thanks in advance.
