Another change..

Sadly, I wasn't gelling with the E63 as much as I thought I would, and for the sort of driving I was doing, it was overkill really, also, even thought it shouldn't have been a suprise, I just couldn't get on with its tremendous thirst! I sold it on Wizzle, which was very streight forward.

I had my name down for a GR very early on, but had to cancel it due to other circumstances (much to the salesmans suprise..)

Ever since then, I've still wanted one, as the order books are to the end of 2023 now, and didn't even know if I could get on to it. I decided to look for pre owned ones, and found this Pure white Circuit pack one, at a local ish dealership, it was slightly over list, but not too much (fingers crossed it will depreciate slowly)

I did like the pearl white, but the pure white does look very bright, and should be easy if I need to fix stone chips in the future. Also, it seems to match its rally background, this one has owner, with 3000 miles on it.

I've had the car for a couple of days now, it's a fantastic thing, so much character, I live being abke to hear the transmission, it feels very mechanical, perfect steering, amazing grip, even in torrential rain. The gearbox is lovely, it also sounds great, even if its piped in, the induction sound at high revs is brilliant, I love seeing the wide arches in the mirrors.

The car is beautifully built, not one squeak or rattle, it just feels really solid, even over bad road surfaces. It seems to have quite a lot of road presence in the metal/turns heads, the sloping rear roof line, iwty the rear arches look really aggressive. I've already had someone come for a chat about it in a car park. The thing that impresses me most, is the ride quality, and the way it absorbs bumps (the AMG was terrible, even in comfort setting)

I'm very much looking forward to getting used to car, and to get more confident with what it can do.. I hope this one will be a keeper as well.

Lovely car OP. I'm sure you're going to have lots of driving pleasure from this wee weapon.

When it comes time to change my Renault Clio RS200, I really think this is the perfect next step up.

Thank you smile Really looking forward to getting to know it more, I'm even looking forward to winter with it!

From my short experience so far, I would highly recommend one!

Don't think I've taken to a car so quick in a long time.

Thrilled with it, seems a nice mix of bonkers, and reliability.
One thing I love is that there's not one single rattle, just feels a really solid car. The E63s interior rattled/squeaked a lot.

Looks great.

I was speaking to a chap a few weeks ago who got out of one, I asked if they were as good as people say and he replied even better.

Thank you smile

I must admit, I wondered if it could be as good as everyone has said, but it really is.

I've had the car for about a week now, so time to gather my thoughts on it so far

It really is rather good!! - the grip is just insane, with the weather being not ideal recently, I've been using track mode, just feels so planted. The ride still very impressive, at low speeds it's on the hard side, but the faster you go, it starts to smooth out the bumps, I've been able to go faster on some roads that I've ever been able to go with previous cars. The engine is a masterpiece, it may only have 3 cylinders, but it pulls like a train all the way to the red line, Quite an angry little engine! Even though its piped in, it sounds great, the induction sound, and roar at the top of the rev range is very addictive.

The more I see the pure white, the more I like it, it looks good, even on an overcast day. It does seem to attract more attention than I thought it wouid, general head turning and some chats with people.

Really looking forward to more miles with the brilliant car!

The daughter even seems to like it..

Thank you smile Would very much recommend one,

Your Celica GT4 looks fantastic by the way, just been reading your Readers cars thread on it, that's quite a list of parts as well!

OP, are you now down to one car one month?laugh

I recall a silver Exige (Auto though, booo) and a red Evora, about 20 or so cars ago. From my pov everything is downhill after a Lotus anyway.

But this is a major step up from the Merc. Intend to keep it for more than 8 weeks? wink

I can't keep up with my self either to be honest..

Even though say this with most of the cars, I do think this one is a keepee, very special little car.

Thank you smile Very much enjoying it, really pleased with the colour as well, seems to suit the Rally nature of it.

Near enough I think!! laugh I think I have to calm down now though.

Ah yes, the Exige was impressive, I didn't mind the gearbox, certainly quote quick changes, the Evora was lovely, I did prefer that to the Exige.

I find my self taking this out, just for the hell of it, I don't think I did that with the E63. Even though I say this with my cars, I do think I'll hold onto this one, and for it to be a keeper, such a special car, and love the story behind it as well.

Pretty sure the Yaris will be something we never see again in that form from any manufacturer, that alone makes it worth keeping.

I always play with the thought of changing cars but just can not be arsed when it comes to execution I guess. 5 dailies and 2 week end cars in 22 years with a license is poor form smile

Love it OP I have one ordered for delivery in December.

I’m getting impatient I’m considering buying one use and selling in December. How much over list did you pay if you don’t mind me asking?
