BMW F82 M4 Coupe in SMB
Discussion
I've always wanted a M4 ever since they first came out(the extra torque/performance over the E92 M3 I had has always appealed to me). The difficult decision was whether to go for the standard M4 or the M4 Comp. I opted for a non Comp M4 mainly because I preferred the 19" wheels versus the 20" wheels ride wise because I had a tricky experience with the 20" wheels on the 640d. I also get pleasure from polishing chrome exhaust tips whereas the Comp has black exhaust tips. I would however have liked the extra 19bhp and the sports exhaust that the Comp pack offers though.
I'm really smitten with the car(it is a Dec 2018 model with the ultra quiet exhaust though because of the noise emission restrictor on it). The performance has absolutely blown me away and because of the way that the performance is delivered it easily feels like the fastest I've had.
Another contentious issue is that I've gone for the DCT model, whereas my usual preference is for a manual. The reason why was because when I was looking there were only 6 manuals for sale versus hundreds of DCT's, plus I really wanted one in San Merino Blue.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know the car more, but the early impressions of it are excellent.
Thanks for reading and now for some pics.

Stunning looking car, colour so important to get right
The rev counter in the pic, presumably it warms up then changes colour? How long does that take out of interest?
Thank you. The rev counter in the pic, presumably it warms up then changes colour? How long does that take out of interest?
The rev counter lights go out as the car warms up(really quickly to be fair), but you have to be aware that the oil temperature is warm as well though(I won't give it the beans until at least 80'C plus for the oil). Maybe I'm a bit over the top regarding that though.
Great choice cerb!
Reminds me of the San marino blue comp pack on 19's I borrowed from my local dealer before ordering a new one (the last RHD F82 built) for myself.

I had driven plenty of F8x M3/4s prior but most had been modded and wanted to try a comp on 19's before committed to buy.

Congratulations, that looks stunning, especially without ‘gangster glass’. A friend has just bought an M3 Comp, you are right about the ride on the bigger wheels.

I keep looking at these I'm looking at the M4 competition in Yas Marina Blue, I really like the 20inch 666m Forged wheels
