Hi All

Now that I've had the car over a year I thought it was about time to start a Readers' Cars thread on her. She's a Giallo Ochre 1971 Alfa GT1300 junior with a few little upgrades. She's never been restored as far as I can work out from the history, but has been maintained well mechanically. One of the previous owners who did a lot of work on the car worked for Eagle E-types.

A few highlights:

- Still has a 1300cc but the engine had a full rebuild a few years back with high compression pistons, chunky cams, full alfaholics manifolds and exhaust system, alfaholics pedal box, etc so is quite peppy, but not fast by any means

- Koni shocks and eibach spring all round with various bush and anti roll bar upgrades

- Alfaholics 15inch GTA style wheels

- Standard (new) brake calipers with DS2500 pads and braided lines

A few pics from collection day 2019.

Always liked these cars much more debumpered so set about sorting that the next day...

Got carried away and decided to snap up a TwinSpark. Collected it from Gaz at Autofabrica which is an awesome custom motorcycle company down in Southend.

A lovely looking car. It does look better de bumpered. Is there anything out there to plug the bumper holes as it does have the vibe that something is missing which I reckon with a body coloured plug would look a lot less obvious.

Guessing it will go beyond a simple plug. I'm not overly knowledgeable on these cars but I guess there are people out there that can work some magic. smile

Such a pretty car, but I think I’d want to shift all that stuff out of your garage into a shed for fear of damaging the little Alfa.

Please keep us updated with your ownership experience.

I had that exact car in red, a lhd import from Milan. A 1966 car.
In the death of night, under the moonlight, I swear I could hear it fizzing.
Beautifully designed, they are a pleasure to drive. Twin side draft webers on a twin cam engine, and five speed. The gear lever position, design and feel is sublime. Servo assisted brakes, and discs all round, and a perfect exhaust. So few good ones left.

What a pretty little car! I've had an eye on these since watching Chris Harris' video of the full-fat Alfaholics version.

It just looks so right.

Love these, did have one on my shortlist when i was looking for a classic of this era. I ended up with a bmw 2002 (funnily enough i see one in the back ground of one of your pics?!) and awhile later a friend bought a GT Junior but sadly doesnt use it much so i've not really seen it let alone get out in it!

Used to have one of these, and wish I still did! That 1300 is a special little engine.

What a fab car! I think that a GT Junior 1300 of similar age that I borrowed some years ago may have been the best Alfa, and one of the best cars, that I've ever driven. I hope you have lots of fun, OP.

Lovely. I had a 1750 GTV which seemed to me to be a beautifully balanced car. Not too anything - everything about it was in proportion to everything else if yaknowhatImean....

The words that stayed with me after driving a 1300 Junior were "perfectly balanced". It just seemed a lovely car in every way.
