This may be the biggest departure ever. Until yesterday I've been driving a Volvo V90 T8. A company car from a role I left last July. A car chosen for being BiK efficient and one I grew to love.

A 400bhp Volvo estate isn't to be sniffed at. It's heaving but planted, quick but easy to drive swiftly. It wafts but can also 'race' so long as inputs are controlled.

Anyway, COVID came and I lost my job but they were very generous. I start a new role on Monday, the Volvo goes back so what to replace it with.

The obvious choice was to wait for a new co. car. I have an allowance but these are strange times and in amongst all my cars, I've had flat 4s, straight sixes, the best ever V6 (more than once), straight fours, N/A, Turbo etc, I've never owned a V8, until now.

I wanted to buy a car for cash so I now own a BMW 645Ci and in two days I've grown to like it.. I don't fall in love quickly and sometimes never do. The sound is lovely, I may explore a louder option. The looks are great but I may dechrome the window surrounds, the interior is dated but I like it!

Now, if only I can work out why only one headlight is now working (post a bulb change through the wheelarch access panel.

This isn't going to be a thread showing my talents (I have none), but I hope it will be a journey.

Lovely car, miss mine. Keep your eyes (& nose) out for coolant leaks and get yourself an x-pipe to get it sounding like it should.

I'd be very keen to do this, any suggestions?

Not sure if I can post links but there is a company on ebay that supply and fit although I'd imagine if you have a local exhaust fabrication company they'll be able to make something up and it shouldn't cost too much.
