I’m Jag mad, always have been, have raced them and owned several, but never built a really nice daily and after many X300s, I have settled on this 4.0 Sov as a mini project. It’s a bloody lovely car to start with...

Ive fallen in love with the colour.

Plan is to keep the car period but make it look much cooler (in my opinion). Wheels have arrived and slapped them on today. Car is set to be lowered, lots of new bushes, installation of an up to date sound system and some other touches to follow

Long term goal is to have the car running much more power, but that’s a long way off and will have to wait for now.

Old wheels were MASSIVELY better, but what a glorious colour, and it looks to be a nice example.

Ftfy hehe

Your car, do what you like... You have to start the mods somewhere i guess. If they fit the final scheme then great, but as the only "mod" they look waaaay out of place. Slammed with big arches and lots of power etc then fine, but on an otherwise standard (lovely) jag it's a no from me I'm afraid.

The wheels need centre caps, then they’ll look OK

looks mint, how did you acquire it?

Interesting opinions, thank for the feedback
Centre caps don’t fit as the temp locking wheel nuts foul on them.
Sacrilege I know, but I do wanna put a 2jz in this car with an auto box.
The car is a real gem, 70000 miles and a really nice example.
More pictures to follow once the suspension has been worked over

I'd get a worse example if you want to swap in a 2JZ! (i.e. one with a 6 cylinder or engine trouble)
Surely this is better kept together as it's a nice example (which would be a shame to ruin).

Completely agree. The fact that this is such a nice example would mean to me that it's worth keeping in fine fettle, rather that turning into something it's not.

Take a less than great example and breathe life into it if you want to make it something unique, don't start with a fine example!

That’s a stunning car and I love the wheels. Jags are big wafty v8 things in my mind but I’m sure a 2jz will be great fun and becoming a bit of a legendary engine, so cool in Its own right. I so need to own a proper jag soon, such cool cars.

Having springs made up and the using newGAZ shocks to suit
Some new bushing as well

I agree regarding finding a tattier car but I don’t intend to sell this one and there’s a bit of a story behind it.

Already got some of the nicest XJs in the family.
Here’s two of my old mans XJRs. Both on around 45000 miles. Black one he’s had since new

So much waft for the money and the 4.0 will have some shove. My old man had a 1996 3.2 Sport which didn't have a lot of pace, it did have great ride.

So she’s now sitting lower and I’ve had the entire sound system replaced. It still looks period, with most of the speakers and the amp being hidden. Absolutely loving the car right now. Next in the future will be some exhaust fettling and some further work to the suspension. She’s incredibly rot free as well which is great

Lovely looking car!

If your dad has them and you know your way around them, must be a great help with these improvements.

Do you have any images of the interior?

Lovely job. Can you tell me who made your springs please?

I'd like to lop a bit off my XJS' altitude, and shouldn't probably enact my shonky plan of spacing out the spring pans.
