2010 Audi R8 V10 Manual
Discussion
Evening all,
Thought it was about time I made a RR thread for my Audi R8. I have owned the car for the last 12 months and covered around 3000 miles so far.
My previous car was a 2012 Golf R which I owned for 3.5 years, lots of handling modifications and tuned to 370bhp:

I loved the usability of the Golf, it was an absolute blast to drive and it was a difficult decision to sell. It was only my second ever, and first proper 'performance' car.
I originally began looking at V8 R8's, with a budget of up to £40K for the right car. I wanted a manual, low miles, FSH, plenty of carbon and ideally red in colour. Unfortunately as R8's are now at a more affordable level quite a few end up in the hands of people who don't look after them quite as they should. Common faults such as mag ride and air con compressors can quickly amount to thousands of pounds, plus all of the expensive consumables such as brakes, tyres etc.
A local specialist garage had sold one the year previous, and got in touch with the owner to see if he would consider selling it - the answer was a no however in the meantime they had sourced at V10 R-tronic which was offered to me at a very good price. I viewed the car however it needed a full set of tyres, discs and pads all round, paint on several panels and a major service. The bargain price quickly made sense when it needed £5K+ spent on it to make it a worthy car to own.
The offer of a V10 at only £5k over my budget got me intrigued, and after some man maths it became apparent that it could be an option. Homework suggested the running costs are near enough identical, and so the V8 idea was given the boot.
I viewed another V10 coupe at a dealer, this time priced at £50K, which again needed new tyres before it could even be taken on a test drive. Patchy service history and side blades/wheels hydrodipped in carbon fibre... not for me!
I then noticed a car on Autotrader which was being sold privately. The car was advertised was out of budget, but I decided to go and take a look at it - in the worst case scenario I could give the seller an offer to consider should he not have any other interest. The car was immaculate, had a great service history and had recently been serviced and inspected by an independent specialist. Deal done!
Some photos of when I collected the car:

I purchased the car with 30k miles and full Audi/specialist SH. The spec includes phantom black metallic paint, black leather interior with extended leather, Mag Ride, carbon interior trim inlays, carbon side blades, Bang & Olufsen, polished V10 wheels, reverse camera, parking sensors etc.
Since owning the I have done some subtle modifications and general tidying up of some parts. I'll update this thread over the next few days with some more pictures and info
Thanks for reading!

Love that! Audi really nailed it with this design, even the interior although dated now I think will age really
Well. Manual was a blinder of a choice too. I really want to try get into one of these next year as well but fear values may start to slightly climb, although the mk2 is heading to £70k now prices might actually start to converge which is strange, however shows the love for the original as a bit of a game changer IMO.
